Just announced on RealGM (passing along story broken by ESPN's Chad Ford). Nocioni and Hawes are headed to Philly.

This might clarify Philly's draft strategy next week.

I like it for Sacto. I think Dalembert is the kind of athletic center they need, and he also represents a huge expiring contract next year for them.

Hawes has been an enigma since he stepped into the league. We all know who Nocioni is. Not sure how much this helps Philly, other than freeing up minutes for Speights.

Really strange timing.  I like the deal for Philly though.  I think Hawes still has a lot of potential, and Nocioni is a good player.

Great trade for both teams.  Greatly upgrades Sacramento's athletism and defense.  Hawes brings a much more skilled offensive big and toughness in Nocioni.

Gotta think that this means they think they may not get DeMarcus Cousins or don't like him. Greg Monroe is a very good passer and can play out of the paint. Cousins is most effective in the low block, much like Dalambert.

Unless of course the Kings try to stick with Jason Thompson and Donte Greene at the PF spot, which, if I remember right, they weren't all that thrilled with at the end of the season and still try to draft Cousins as their center of the future after Dalambert expires.

Lots of mediocre talent being exchanged. Im not high on any of these guys.

I guess the 76ers win because they got two OKAY players vs. one for the Kings.

I think this means Sac is trading out of #5.

As for the trade itself, I like it for Philly.  Hawes needed a change of scenery, and Sammy had become a cancer in Philly.

Doug Collins inevitably wears out his welcome quickly, but he really knows how to assemble a team. Sort of Bill Fitch-like, in a way.

I can't believe that Collins doesn't want Turner on his team. Seems like an absolute perfect fit for the team.

Not exactly a "thunder stealer" for Game 7.

I'm surprised Lebron hasn't leaked his destination of choice yet today.
Yup

I just don't get how teams can make trades when teams are still playing.

If you have Iguodala and Jrue Holiday in your backcourt and Lou Williams coming off your bench why do you want Turner if you feel Favors or Cousins is equally good or better than Turner?

I can understand Collins here. Cousins seems like he would be a perfect fit here. So say you want and will be drafting Turner, get Minnesota to trade with you for the #4 pick while picking up a player or draft pick and still get the guy that will be best for Philly while paying him less money.

Smart move in my book.

Sounds like a dumb trade for both teams.

Philadelphia just traded away their second best player for two underwhelming role players and a longer cap commitment (Nocioni).

Sacramento just created a three player big man rotation of Landry, Thompson and Dalembert. Not a good offensive combination with Tyreke Evans at this stage of his career due to his limited jump shooting. Puts a lot of pressure on the wings/guard to provide adequate spacing. This move will help them in the interim (Dalembert will anywhere from 5-10 wins depending on his playing time) but it doesn't create any long term benefits (long term fit? Dalembert? potential, ability to improve?) for a team that should be focused on the future. Too much focus on short term winning.
