I don't know how game 7 will shape out. Maybe it will be a blowout for either team. Or maybe it will be a close one all along, with the game and the champion being decided in the last minute.

Imagine the championship is on the line. Down 1 with 10 seconds left, or tied with 10 seconds left. The Celtics have the ball. Who takes the last shot?

I voted Ray. I remember an interview of the Big Three in 2008 where they were asked who would take the shot in that situation ; Paul and KG both said "Ray", and Ray said "the open man". What's your take?

Pick and Roll with KG and Pierce have Ray flashing through a screen by Rasheed.

Then whomever is open takes the shot.

Id say run the play for the man with the hottest hand whether it be KG,Paul or Ray.

Pierce with a jumper unless he drives where, if the D collapses, the ball is kicked out to Ray to hit it.

Either way, the Celtics win it.  ;)

If it's an open shot then of course it's Ray. If the shot has to be created then it's Paul.

Rondo.  I imagine he would be left wide open under any scenerio.

  • Thank you Eddie!
I wouldn't mind BBD getting a wide open look at the last shot as a 3rd option if Pierce or Ray are double teamed.  He's just the type who wouldn't be afraid to take the last shot in game 7 of the Finals.  I think he puts up a game like he had in game 4 because he's that type of player.  If KG took that shot, it would end up in the upper deck somehow.

The perfect scenario would be Ray. But if the defense were to collapse on Pierce driving to the basket, I wouldn't be all that upset with a long range shot for Sheed.

The play shouldn't be drawn up for Pierce by default. Go with the hot hand.

If it's tied the shot shouldn't be taken until you know the buzzer will be going off while the ball is in mid air.

Before this series I would have chosen Ray but his shooting has been way too inconsistent for me. Definitely Paul.

Paul has been the leader of the C's for a decade. Let him take the last shot. He probably deserves that opportunity more than anybody. I just hope that he would take off a little sooner, even if it means leaving seconds on the shot clock. When he stalls, and waits for the clock to get to 5 seconds, he typically turns it over or gets off a horrible shot.

Paul first.
Ray and KG very distant 2nds (flip a coin -- I'd be happy with either).
Celtics fan for life.
