the positives that might, and I mean might, come from this beating:
* starters have gotten plenty of rest this game.  they've played relatively low minutes and god know they didn't expend a lot of effort out there.
* Artest and the laker bench aren't likely to shoot that well again.  not a definite but they haven't shown the ability to contribute consistently.  hopefully blew whatever ammo they had tonight.
* the thoroughness of this beating will hopefully drive home the urgency of the next game.  I don't know why they didn't feel that urgency tonight but there's no excuse next time.
* Perk's got a sprain and not something more serious.  It's possible he could play even it it's limited minutes.  not sure what he could contribute even if he does play.
* I'd say the C's offense can't possibly be worse so they're bound to shoot better but that's an unproven point of optimism

Thoughts?

I think the only positive is that we can't play any worse than we did tonight.

to me, better to be blown out than lose by three in a game like that. will that translate to game seven? i have no idea, series has been very unpredictable

The bright side is that next game starts 0-0. The biggest issue we had tonight was rebounding and offense. Need to play with more urgency on offense and just plain shoot and rebound the ball. We will be the underdog for sure but I'll watch.

Tomorrow is a travel-free day off so we should get some rest and some good practice time in.

Neither team has really been able to put together 2 consecutive games of solid play so hopefully that means Game 7 is our turn next to shine.

Someone always steps up in a big way in our must-win games.

We've bounced back with a win after every blowout loss this postseason.

The players rightfully should be kicking themselves after this game. I think they'll find the motivation they need to win.

I like that Ray got his shot back. Not completely but...its there.

Would I have rather won this tonight? No doubt. But this will hopefully light some fire under their asses and they will play with the passion, determination and aggression needed to win.

well,I'm just not getting that "they feel humiliated and they're gonna come out firing next game" thing...
I remember KG being humiliated by Gasol in Game 1 and didnt really bounce back in Game 2! in fact we needed a superhuman performance by both Ray and Rajon in game 2 to get that win!! in the other 2 games in LA we were just blown out... I'm really disappointed and I don't like our chances right now! but, well, hope dies last... ::)

Good Points..and like GrandtheftRondo said, Ray looks like he got his groove back.

Looking forward to better effort on Thursday.

I am hoping for the excessive self-belief let down by the Lakers.

I'm hoping for the same thing.  I can see Kobe, Pau and for some reason specifically Artest and their bench getting overconfident after tonight's beating.

I think the Lakers already started losing their bullets in the 4th Quarter last night.

We played horrible defense through 3 quarters last night.

Horrible.

Here's a clear positive.

We will know once and for all who the real 2009-10 Boston Celtics are.

If they come out hard and play the whole game, that gives us one answer.

If they bring another game six style effort, that gives us another.

One positive I brought from this game is that we missed so many lay-ups.  If we make most of those easy looks as we should have we would have been in the game, at least that's what I'm telling myself.

The defense needs to be up to the standards that we are used to and the ball can't be as stagnant on offense as it was most of the night.  And Rondo needs to be more agressive early.  He allowed Kobe to drift off of him too many times early last night and he should have been attacking the rim every time he did it.

Only 2 positives for me.

1. Rasheed didn't get that dreaded Technical that wouldve gotten him suspended.

2. Doc did a great job of managing minutes. I don't think one starter played over 32 minutes. Doc saw how the game was going and made sure he didn't waste minutes on a futile comeback attempt. Everyone should be well rested for game 7.

Positive of Game 6?

We won Game 5, so we weren't eliminated in an embarrassing manner in Game 6 - merely emabarrassed.
Yup
