Steve Kerr's current contract ends after the draft.  He was asked to take a 10% pay cut in a new contract.  He decided to move on.

Sort of shocking given that Steve Kerr pretty much revamped the Suns and got them to the WCF.

Yeah, maybe, I'm still not sold that this year was much more than an aberration.  As everyone on this board should know very well, defense wins championships, and the Suns haven't valued that in at least 18 years, and potentially never.

I don't see that team ever winning until they can learn to play some defense, and given the age of the core, I don't see that ever happening.

i really liked Kerr, i think he was a great fit for the Suns.. he was a great face towards the media and made things happen for that organization that somewhat made sense (except the O'Neal trade, that was a fluke but i commend him for trying and even more so to get a team out of it on the other side of that trade)

Hope he actualy gets a media related job, as he would be a great fit for a ESPN analyst or something like it

Steve wants to go back to TV - more money, less accountability, and he still gets paid if there's a lockout.

The Shaq deal was a dud but he did a good job of piecing together a very solid, very cohesive team after that.  If we hold him to the standard of winning a title he failed, but so do 90+% of GMs.

Do you know what this means to me? I know hope they decide to hire someone to remake the franchise and part of that is dealing a player like Grant Hill, Jared Dudley or Robin Lopez to the Celtics.

If Amare doesn't go back maybe Danny can swindle their next GM into a Hill and Lopez for Rasheed Wallace deal  ;) :D ;D

Kerr had a wild ride in his short tenure.....tried to turn the Suns into a more defense-oriented team, or least much more physical, which failed.....then they went back and had great run in their old style.....

doesn't hurt to dream Nick!
