The words of Tony Parker on the Colin Cowherd show when pondering the idea of the Celts beating the lakers in the series.  So even if we win, we aren't the best.

This is so close I can taste it.  Gotta get this done!

Edit:  And immediately after on the Dan Patrick show, Parker calls Rondo the sixth best PG (after himself, Nash, Billups, Paul, and Williams).  And without prompt (preceding the list), he says it is more difficult guard Paul and Williams than Rondo.

Guy is really hating today.

Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing this morning, and it made me nervous, because it is a truism in sports and life. My version was a little different, however. My unwavering sentiment is that WEare the bettter team, and in a 7 games series, the bettter team usually wins, but as parker says, not always.

We gotta close it out tonite and give them no tomorrows.

I guess Tony is upset that the "rest the starters" strategy didn't work for the Lakers.

The team with the best record doesn't always win, but the best team always wins in a seven game series, barring major injury.

Last time I heard a statement like that in reference to a New England sports team, they won the title.  Thanks Kordell, and thanks Mr. Longoria.

HA. I would take Rondo over Parker any time.

And why do they invite him to talk shows? I bet it's only so they could hang out with his wife backstage.

Why is Tony Parker trying to rain on our parade before it even starts? SMH.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Realistically if SAS and BOS were talking trade and the idea of Rondo for Parker was on the table, who says yes and who says no.

SAS would trade Parker for Rondo in .5 miliseconds.

Danny would never trade Rondo for Parker.

So he's at worst 5th. And given Chauncey's and Nash's age - we're down to three, if you want to look out more than a season or two.

Sounds bitter.  Lighten up, Tony. Ironically, Celtics are more like the power house Spurs than any other team; veteran oriented, team oriented, defensively oriented, with a PG who wreaks havoc, but not great outside shot. You would think Tony would admire us, but instead he appears jealous.

Rumors are that Tony Parker's quietly been on the trade block, despite being in the prime of his career.  Parker ain't a top-6 PG anymore.

If we beat the top 3 regular season teams in the playoffs without facing a single elimination game, there isn't much of a point in using the Parker argument.

It is not surprising to hear that from a player out West. If we asked Lebron, Wade, or Howard, I'm not sure they would agree with Parker. There is a lot of cognitive dissonance involved there.

It is true that the best team doesn't always win, but How good have the Lakers been post game 1? If they lose in game 6, it isn't clear what non-Bynum focused argument could be used to claim their superiority. Considering Bynum's history, it seems unfair to give the Lakers consideration on that count. The dude has surgery every season. That's who he is.
