So, all we heard about after dropping game one was how Phil Jackson has never lost a series after winning game one, and he obviously has an impressive record at something like what.. 47-0? Can't remember exactly.

Now we're up three-two. Before last year, we never lost a series when leading 3-2. Can't remember our record there, but nonetheless I think it's interesting.

Which mystical force of sports history is going to cave in this one?

Phil Jackson of course. We are 11-0 in the Finals after being up 3-2 and 5-0 against the Lakers. That's two records against one.

Every game there's some new statistic used about something that happened in the past that bears no true weight on the current situation.  Phil's 47-0 after a game one win, the winner of game three always win the series, the Celtics are 11-0 when going up 3-2 in the finals...all of that is in the past, doesn't effect the now, and no matter what one of these irrelevant stats is bound to be broken.

Throw in no game 7s for Phil in a Final's series, that three to one.

That Lakers team (Kobe/Gasol/Odom) is 0-1 against this Celtics (KG/Pierce/Ray).   4 to 1.

Phil has never beaten the Celtics in the NBA finals.
5 to 1.

This is fun.

I'm not sure "no game 7s for Phil" works.  It could be construed that he's never lost a game 7.  :P

If he never played in a game 7 in an NBA Finals points to the series ending in 6, therefore, Celtics win.

This Celtics starting 5 has NEVER LOST a playoff series.

There's the big one. 7-0 in the playoffs.

I love the logic behind that.   ;D

I think GreenBean had the best post of this thread.

I do not play the numbers game. I only look one possession at a time and will the Celtics to play better than their opponents that one possession.
The beatings will continue until morale improves
