Maybe im overly loyal cause the guy went to my hometown school (URI), but for the most part Lamar seems like a really nice guy. I think if we all played thousands of physical basketball games and they were all filmed we could find plays where we looked pretty dirty. Agreed pretty lame behavior. We have a lot if really good knowledgeable fans here that show a lot is sportsmanship. It reflects poorly on everyone. The hools should just be allowed to clash in a seperate area apart from the main body of normal fans. Similar to futbol firms in Europe. That way innocents wouldn't be harmed.

I know I sound like an idiot, but this really doesn't bother me all that much.  I mean, I certainly would never throw anything on the floor (no matter how drunk and foolish i was acting).  And if I was at the game, and I saw the dude who did it, I would probably think to myself, "wow, that guy is a drunk fool.  He should and probably will be thrown out of here."  But stories like these really don't bother me.

I want the garden to be as terrifying a place as possible for opponents.  The atmosphere needs to be wild and that starts with the fans. 

Of course putting any player in some sort of danger is reprehensible, and the guy who threw the thing is a fool, but honestly I could care less about a few drunks giving Boston fans a bad name.  I want Boston to have the reputation of being the rowdiest fan base.

People are talking ejections and banning from Boston sport sites, etc.. How about criminal prosecution. Let's start with assault, attempted batttery, reckless endangerment...there must be some other crimes committed here.

I will give you a TP for trying to make an unpopular and difficult argument.  And you do have a point.  In the old days fans in the Boston Garden threw eggs and miscellaneous vegetables -- tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, celery, etc. -- at the opposing bench.  It was part of the intimidating atmosphere of the old garden, along with the hot water mysteriously shutting off in the opposing locker room.  We will never go back to the old days where men wore suits and hats everywhere, smoked indoors, and punched each other in the face if insulted without resorting to calling 911 or threatening to sue, and some of the ways society has changed are for the best.  Last night was bad because it was a hard object (a mini plastic bottle?) that was thrown on the court.  Nobody should ever throw anything on the court, especially when there's a danger of hitting a Celtic player rather than an opposing player.  If somebody threw a tomato at Phil Jackson during a timeout, I think that person should also be ejected, but it wouldn't bother me as much as someone throwing a hard object onto the court where there are Celtics players.  The guy who threw the bottle got KG wet I think, because he jumped back.  This was during the play, when all the players should have been blocking out to go for the rebound if Kobe missed the FT.  You have a point that the other team should be nervous about the crowd, the problem is that throwing something on the court when the game is happening is dangerous to Celtics players.  What if KG slipped on the vodka and hurt his knee?  Whoever threw it was a big time Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. and should be banned.  If someone threw an egg at Phil Jackson during a press conference after the game it wouldn't bother me as much.  After the Pistons-Pacers brawl where Artest ran into the stands, fans were dumping drinks on Artest as he left the court, and I think that was understandable.
