Can someone post a clip of Tony Allen's block of Pau Gasol last night?  To me, that one play signified how our energy trumps the Lakers' length.  Most telling stat from game last night: Celtics' 7 blocks, Lakers 1 block. I know that Bynum is hampered, but man, that does not explain how we got 7 blocks. Energy, baby.

Tony is playing a great series, especially on defense. I can think of no one who plays Kobe better than Tony. He has embraced his role, and is really a huge contributor toward our 3-2 edge in this series. Way to go, Tony!!Kudos to you, too, Perk. You are silently having a very solid series, on the defensive end, which is all that we need from you.

Go Tony!  that was a thing of beauty ..
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

Great job Tony, you saved your team one basket there, but gave away 4-5 more on offense.

Sorry, couldn't help myself...

It was a great play thanks for posting the clip!

When I think of "The Block" I can't help but think of Tayshaun Prince's block of Reggie in 2004.

Great defense.

Had the ball to often on offense where he was required to take more then two dribbles.

On offense, he should only receive the ball when he is heading towards the basket.

Or to swing it to another player who won't dribble into disaster...

I'm still proud of how he's turned himself into a role player that we needed in these playoffs.

You guys are tough, I know he had a few challenging moments on O, but his D was great, and that block was classic.

Hahaha, people on the Laker blog are still saying that's an obvious foul.  Fans are the same everywhere I guess.

Brilliant play by Tony, he had to dive to the ball as soon as it was passed.

Most are giving credit to his defense.

But his offensive shortcomings last night cost the team points.

Yeah, that was quite a block.

TA's was pretty awesome as well, though.
Celtics fan for life.

Ever notice how sometimes, after a great play, Tony has like an out-of-body experience, whether it be a little dance, or running after the ball after a made dunk?  It's like his mind goes blank.  I think last night was the first time he had one of those DURING a play.  He made the incredible block, and then inexplicably blocked it again with his other hand.  It was awesome, and something only Tony Allen would do.

I don't know why TA hangs out for the corner three pter - he's not fooling anyone. He'd be better utilized screening and rolling - screening off the ball in the middle - or trying to lose his defender and head to the bucket. But - you don't know if that's a Tony thing or a system thing - I'm guessing its where the offense puts the secondary wing.

His positives have outweighed his negatives. And his minutes giving Pierce and Allen a rest have been good. He's more useless when Rondo is in, because the C's have two guards with no deep threat, and that's seemed to help him play better offense with Nate.

Yeah - he does this little hop and looks around - sometimes he gets delay of games because he'll grab the ball for no reason and seems confused as to why he has it. Hilarious.
