Just looking at the man makes me cringe.  He is always complaining about the refs or the other team and then turns around and sounds so self righteous in condemning the other coaches for doing the same thing he does in EVERY single press conference.   Like he said that his team would never try to goad Perk into a tech but yet we see it in every game.  In game 4, 3 separate Lakers went out of their way to walk past Perk and either bump him several times with their shoulder (gasoft), push him (Artest)  or jaw at him (Kobe), all right after the other.  Like they thought maybe he would hold his cool with one, but not 3 in a row.  Perk held his arms up in the air because if he so much as twitched they couldn't mistake that for a reaction and give him the T.  I was very proud of him.

Phil's latest jab at the Celtics was this, talking about how Perk plays Gasoft:

Quote
"He's got the ability to displace Pau even though that's not part of the standards of the game," said Jackson. "But he does move him off the post. He has less mobility on the outside perhaps than Kevin does, and so Pau has to step out and use his speed and quickness as opposed to perhaps post up position and size."

Not part of the standards of the game?  What is this idiot talking about?   I just really really dislike this guy.  As Max said, If I walked past him and he was on fire and I had a glass of water,  I'd drink the water.

Rant over... believe me this is very out of character for me because I am a very easy going person but this guy has pushed me too far.

Phil Zen Jackson is disgusting, self entitled and walks around like if his s**t didn't stink. Always disrespecting rivals, and talking to the refs and the league making them accountable for not giving all the help to the fakers.

He's been lucky enough to get all these great players: Jordan, Pippen, Shaq... besides good ones like Kobe and Gasol. Otherwise, he would have something like 1 or 2 rings, you have to respect him, but he's disgusting.

Phil doesn't belong in the same list as Red or Wooden, not even Popovich or Riley. He's good, but he pictures himself as the best. No way.

TP for expressing it so well, FL

It's just weird to me that Phil seems to hate about 90% of his job.

Why does he keep coaching if everything seems like an annoyance.

Phil wasn't talking about "standards of the game" when he had Shaq literally tanking his way over opposing Centers and opposing defenses for dunks and slams.

i find it amazing phil's teams have ever been able to win a game despite the fact that every call in his career has gone against him.  ::)

I dont like Phil Jackson but i have the utmost respect for the man, he knows what he's doing and he's not shy about working the system within the bounds of whats allowed, thats not cheap thats just smart.

But i dont like the man at all, i think he takes to much credit for coaching an offense that runs basicly on its own but he' is absolutly one of the best defensive coaches in this league if not the best something he dosnt get enough credit for in this league so i guess it balances out.

Could not agree more.  I can't stand the man, he is way too arrogant for my liking, but I respect him.

TP to you, FLCF, for bringing up the subject.

Edit: I'll TP you up when I am able to again.  ;)

Preach it FLCF. I hate his smarmy smugness and his overrated "zen" tactics and his whining and his stupid digs at opponents and most of all his condescending attitude and his overblown feelings of entitlement.

I'm sorry but winning 9 rings with prime Jordan and Shaq does not the best coach ever make. I've seen enough of his coaching this decade to convince me he's not head and shoulders above any of the other championship coaches. Really any of the playoff coaches this season (OK aside from Woodson and Brown) could have squeezed about that many championships out of those two.
