Thanks again everyone for all of your words of encouragement and advice! Computer is about to die, hopefully getting things taken care of tomorrow, or a least going in the right direction. I'll try and let you guys know what happens. And thanks again and again, your kindness has brightened up my evening!

Have been doing some research on my situation online. It looks like my landlord has put herself into some serious trouble. I just don't want to be in this mess, you know? Lawdy.

if you do not mind me/us asking, what was the landlord's gripe? there is no excuse for what he did but did he have any sort of reason for doing what he did? is he a lakers fan?

I've had a really, okay, extremely rough night. In all honestly, and I promise you on my *thinks hard, since he doesn't have a family* dogs life that I'm not exaggerating, my landlord went crazy tonight. Locked me out of the house, put all of my belongings out on the back porch... including my 3 month old kitten... with out food or water.

So I had to deal with all of that, basically, this is a shameless plug or a few words of encouragement and basically a summary of the game. Because of this whole fiasco I missed the entire game.

Anything and everything is appreciated, I love you all.

Keep your head up man.  We all go through trial and tribulations.  It's how  you deal with them that shows your truth self.

Ah, sketchy possibly mentally ill slum lord landladies...takes me back, in a bad way.

I'm glad everything seemed to work out relatively OK and you have a place for your stuff and yourself.  I'm sorry you and your kitten had to deal with that though - especially during the game!  I agree that you should absolutely document everything and look into legal recourse for her actions, as she has no right whatsoever to do what she did.

I also wish CB the best of luck in getting Internet sued by greeny

If you were locked out by your landlord, that's absolutely illegal (in every state that I'm aware of.)  I'd suggest talking with a legal aid attorney, and filing a lawsuit in your local landlord tenant court / small claims court.

Thanks for the input, Hobbs! I've got an appointment with a lawyer today at 3:30. Hopefully everything goes well!

Of course I don't mind. I don't feel like I have anything to hide or that I did anything wrong. She said that, "I didn't maintain the lawn properly." I wish you could see this lawn, I really do, it's practically perfectly manicured. EVEN THOUGH I told her that I was going through physical therapy and that I couldn't do it. I told her she needed to get someone else to do it. But when she didn't, I did it myself so she wouldn't get in trouble. So, yeah, that's her gripe. Figure that one out.

I've not heard anything else from my old landlord. I've basically told my legal adviser that I don't want to get into anything. But, if she contacts us and tries to start crap, then of course we'll do something. I just want it to be over and move on. I've got a place to live now, I'll have a job soon, just chalk this up to a horrible experience and move on!

Anyone who would lock out a baby kitty without food or drink deserves to be tarred and feathered.  I'm really sorry to hear about your troubles with your landlord. If she is that crazy, maybe you are better off finding someplace else to rent before she did something even worse.  After the Celtics win the title, you'll be able to watch the game over again because they will be replaying the finals over the summer.  Hang in there and my prayers are with you that things settle down for you and you find an even better place to rent with a nice landlord for even cheaper.
