Someone has to foul Artest HARD tonight !!!

Artest has been taking cheap shots on the C's players and so far has gotten away with it.  In game 1 he locked PP's arm and threw him to the ground within the 1st minute of the game.

In game 3 he purposely put him knee into Ray Allen's thigh. Ray just came off a huge game 2 and there is no doubt in my mind that it was on purpose.


The Lakers have also been trying to bait Perk into getting his 7th tech, so I say fight fire with fire.



Foul Artest HARD !!!!!!!


I don't care if its. PP, KG, Sheed, BBD, Daniels or someone else, the C's need to foul Artest hard and see how he reacts. He is likely to get thrown out of the game like he did last year against the Lakers.

You don't want Artest out of the game.  His offensive ineptitude more than makes up for any "toughness" he brings on defense.  When Artest is on the court, the Celtics have the luxury of clogging up the lane and aggressively doubling Kobe, because he's no threat whatsoever.

TP. Artest stinks. Kobe knows it too and went into hero mode for game 3. I cant believe we lost with Kobe shooting his team out of the game.

I was just saying foul Artest because he is taking cheap shots on the C's. But you guys are probaly right, we are better off with him on the floor.

I wouldn't do it to kobe because I don't think he can be rattled by that, but Gasol, Bynum, Odom and Artest are all options for a hard foul to send a message.

What I hate most about him is that his moronic behavior is a big part of why the NBA is ruined. The league has become so image conscious that preserving the integrity of the game has fallen so low on their list of priorities while they focus on projecting a certain image. This tool should never get the satisfaction of winning a ring.

Outside of the calling for pointed hard fouls on an individual (if we are going to get whistled on everything, though, might as well make 'em count )....

That knee to the thigh on Ray I think had a large effect on  his poor shooting night. Ray's a class-act and would never say anything about it but for a rhythm shooter to lose his lift makes a huge difference and can throw his whole form off. This probably had a huge effect on his 0-for. Not an excuse, an observation that I don't think has been brought up enough as one reason for how he goes from lights out to lights off.

we need to take nobody out. the lakers aren't playing dirty, like howard. in fact, i like how the refs call the game for them on defense all the time. i suspect they'll do the same for us the next two games, and give them the boston treatment (touch fouls), 'til game 6. if anything, we need to set good screens on artest and get pierce moving on offense. let ron chase him around a little. pierce 1-on-1 vs. artest plays to ron's strengths. pierce moving around makes ron's job much harder. and, most importantly, pray that the refs let pierce play.

I agree that it would really suck for Artest to get a ring. I'd feel that way if he was on any other team.

I do not agree with fouling anyone hard in the manner that we are "taking player x out".

If we do foul hard and flagrantly, the refs will really take over the game at even more anal level than the current one.

I actually think that prior to Game 1, Phil Jackson told Artest to take Pierce down.

Once that happened the refs started to take control right from the start of the game.

A tightly officiated game favors the Lakers considerably.
