Celtics minority owner Jim Pallotta may face a fine from the NBA after he had a verbal confrontation with commissioner David Stern following Game 3 of the NBA Finals According to multiple sources, Pallotta, who was angry over the officiating in Game 3, confronted Stern and said the league should be embarrassed at the officiating in the series In the past, owners that have been publicly critical of officials have received six-figure fines The NBA officially had no comment on the incident, while a Celtics spokesman said he was unaware of it

Yeah, unless there were threats made, or something like that, I actually think they dealt with it in a relatively good way.  It certainly should not be dealt with the same way as if he did complain to the press.

I'm pretty sure any fine from the league would be a joke to Jim Pallotta.  After all, this is the man whose new mansion was the topic of a Boston Magazine article titled "The House That Ate Weston."

Fines for players, coaches, and now owners for criticizing the officials is just shooting the messenger, which is much easier than facing up to the problem that precipitates the criticism in the first place.

slimy little weasals like stern don't deal with people directly - he would rather go around the back door and manipulate indirectly to get his petty revenge.

why do you think Stern doesn't like the Celts to begin with (and he doesn't) ................. because back in the 80's Red told him more than once to stick it. Red was a lot more important than little stern and stern resented it. why do you think the Celts were given no help or allowances after we lost Len Bias and Reggie Lewis ?

Good for him. I'm sure he's as sick as as the rest of us of the crappy officiating and Stern's refusal to do anything meaningful to improve it.

It's time for a new commissioner. Long overdue really -  we should have someone who understands the importance of balance and can focus on the bigger picture beyond revenue. Improve the quality of the game and fans will stay invested and the bottom line benefits. Another few seasons of this and the NBA may start sinking into irrelevance.

Yeah please don't send him down here. We are already covered in slime. Who knows when the oil will be cleaned up, considering our slimy politicians. Stern would fit right in with the bunch.
