Alright I've been quiet on here for a while just soaking everything in  but I've finally hit my boiling point with the fans of New England sports. I hope those of you who are making I'm Done posts and See you in October comments  dont ever come back because you are frauds. You are the same ones that quit on this team a few months ago , bood them off the floor   but when you saw they had a chance against Cleveland late in the series you jumped on board hoping nobody would realize you were off all along.

You are the same ones who called WEEI after Sundays game calling Ray Allen a god, one of the greatest celtics, his number needing to be retired,  ect. ect.

You are also the same ones who called today saying you wish he was traded, that he is inconsistant, too old, has no legs left, cant be a clutch shooter   ect. ect.

I am sick of the flip flopping Boston fans do...you did it with the Bruins after the cooke game and then came back after they beat Buffalo.

This city needs a decade of losing to get rid of these losers because I am sick of being associated as a "fan" with these fools.  If you are going to cheer for a team  cheer for them because you love the team, not because they are successful and the hot ticket in town, not because its the cool thing to do or because you want to fit in.  So either stay off the forums and stop your whining  or stay on, enjoy the ride and appreciate what we have now while we have it because it can be gone tomorrow

It can be frustrating when we expect to much from sports radio callers and such. The emotionally intensity is so high for events like this that many people lash out when they are disappointed. They point fingers, come up with delusions, quit, etc. Others are better able to take disappointment in stride.

The people quitting or having other dramatic responses are still real and committed fans. They just have a tougher time managing the stress.

Reminds me of that episode of Cheers in Season 1 - the one where the entire bar had Carla's "I'm never going to watch the Red Sox again" speech memorized and recited it with her after they listened to the Red Sox lose a game on the radio.

I agree, but posts about who is a "real fan" never end well on these forums.

I also agree with that. As I have said on a few threads, I am finished with the NBA after the Finals. I am walking away after 35 years. This does not in ANY way mean I am not a fan of my Celtics. It means I am NOT a fan of the NBA as it exists today. I do not consider myself less of a fan than anyone else.

I don't like calling out fans for whining.

That said, you raise a very good point.

This city needs a decade of losing.

Boston sports fans have been absolutely spoiled the past decade with the great play of the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics.  It has been a truly amazing run, and it ain't gonna last forever...

My point: we should enjoy what we've got right now in these teams.

For the Celtics, that means we've got a team IN THE FINALS!  They are only down by one game, and the next two are at home.  I like our chances of going back to LA up 3-2.
Celtics fan for life.

Sorry, but threads like this violate our rules:

Do not label fellow posters in a way that is likely to provoke a negative response.  Dependent upon context, examples include, but are not limited to, "fake fan", "bandwagon fan", "not a real fan", "hater", "homer", "koolaid drinker", etc.

Calling out fans for their fanhood just leads to people feeling attacked, which is never a great idea.
