  • GOT IT!!!
This series is different than the previous series though because of the [dang] 2-3-2 format. Way too much pressure on the road team.

Def. would have been nice to get Game 3 because

1.  A LOT of pressure on the C's to win Games 4 and 5 now.

2.  It's very difficult to string together 2 in a row in the playoffs.  Particularly in the Finals.  Particularly against the Lakers.

Positives:

The Fakers are yet to drop their stink bomb.
Ray hits 2 shots tonight we win
KG looks like his old self
Bench looked great
Pierce won't stay cold

Hey, I'll keep watching and rooting and hoping. But this was my thinking before the game started. Also, after three games, we don't look like the better team. I firmly believe that we need to go back to la up a game rather than down. That means we need to win the next two to have a realistic chance and it is difficult for me to envision beating them two in a row, even at home. So my outlook is on more than just the loss.

I see where you are coming from, but if Ray hits 3 shots we probably win this game, if PP hits another shot or two and isn't in such foul trouble we probably win this game, if we get a couple of those ticky-tack foul calls go our way  for once we probably win this game, Odom doesn't bank in a three we probably win this game, etc etc. I don't think we've been outplayed horribly. I think this series is still very much up for grabs. Sometimes you have to let the evidence sway you from your pre-formulated opinions. Maybe I'm a blind optimist but I don't see this as being anything close to over.

Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. Far too early to call. This team manages to get their act together in time whenever they're left for dead. I know the 2-3-3 format is tougher but still. This series reminds me a bit of the semis where we lost what were supposed to be pivotal Games 1 and 3. In the end the only thing that mattered was who got to 4 wins first. While I'm concerned we're not playing well, it makes me optimistic because I know we have a lot of room to improve.

Bonus cause for optimism: no more interviews for Thibs! Seems to me we have a letdown each time he has one.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Gonna be hard to enjoy if "competition" means the Celtics playing to the level of the other team every other game, and if each of the Big 3 takes turns not showing up.

Ya, it's over, just like it was when the C's fell behind 2-1 vs. Cleveland after an embarrassing home blowout.  No chance.   ::)

Exactly.
I've always thought this would go to 7.

Honestly, it's really amazing to watch people on this board jump off of a cyber cliff.

It's 2-1 people. If anyone thought this would be easy, they were delusional.

Not remotely "over" ... I say we still win in six. We've been beating the odds all year, and it's not about to end now.

dude, remember Cavs series, they won game 1, then game 3 on OUR floor. Series was 2-1 favoring Cavs, we ended up winning 3 straight to take the series.

The Lakers are no the Cavs I know but the point is, its not over til its really over. Have some faith

Also, I'd like to add that none of our stars have played a great game all at once. Think about it: if Paul, Ray, KG, and Rondo could all play well in the same game, man...

That's what I am still waiting for.

Game 5 in Cleveland is the only one I can point to.

We need 3 more of those and then it won't be in the ref's hands/mouth.

remember all those "window's closed" threads during the regular season...??
well, I think the window's closed after tonights loss and I can pretty much say that Derek Fisher closed it...

I don't think I will ever hate a guy so much, he represents everything I hate most in this life! I have never wished something bad on someone, ever in my life, but I can tell you, I'm extremely close to doing so... :-X
