Is Perkens playing scared?

I'm talking about scared that he will pick up his 7th tec? He's been practible invisable the first two games. This is the guy that has been able to slow down the likes of Howard and Shaq. Yet Bynam has looked like an all-star agains't him.
So far he's had no blocked shots along with 3 & 6 boards, in the first 2 games.
It just seems to me that he's been a non-factor and is playing Kind of timid and I wonder if it could be because of the threat of a suspension.
So I'm wondering do you all think it's could be the 7th tec hangong over his head, or is he just getting his butt kicked?

The fear of the 7th tech definitely affected his level of play in game 1 but he did an excellent job in game 2, especially offensively, so I think he plays "free" now and has the "whatever happens happens" mentality, which is good because he has to play his game and not fear a technical.

No. Bynum's good play has nothing to do with Perk playing scared or Perk's "poor" defense.

It has more to do with Perk helping out stopping penetration. It has more to do with the combination of him and Gasol being around. It has to do with Bynum being a more dangerous offensive player than Howard and Shaq at this moment. It has to do with Bymum taking advantage of shorter/thinner defenders when Perk is out of the game. It has to do with poor rotation when Perkins is helping on other players.

I tend to agree with Budwieser Celtic at this point about Perkins defensive workload going way up this series. I would like to also point out that he had two nice finishes in the last five minutes of the 4th qtr.

I know that Perkins has never played scared. If anybody is playing scared, it might be Garnett.

The only thing Perkins has to do to avoid getting his seventh Tech is keep his big trap shut when he gets whistled and don't get into unnecessary shoving matches.

I love Perkins game and what he does for the Celts but he has always talked way too much to the refs after every foul he gets.

He can still play good, hard, clean and physical defensive basketball and just keep his mouth shut and he shouldn't have much to worry about.

He can rake guys arms as they go up and bang people hard with his body, etc. He just can't lay someone out, get into a wrestling match with someone or talk crap to the refs...

So my answer is I don't think so. I think he should be smart enough to know how to play at this time with the amount of techs he has.

I don't know what is up with KG. I live in LA and all the reports about how is old and done out here are really annoying. KG looked anything but old and done against the Cavs and Magic. You don't get old in one week. He's looked very spry, bouncy and like the old KG throughout most of the plyaoffs.

If he hasn't re-injured something or some things ( Knee and shoulder) or something then he has 100% gotten himself so "geeked out" in his mind that he's rmoved himself form the game.

RH,i agree and Bynum has been getting away with traveling,changing his pivot foot,camping out in the lane to long most of this season.I can't remember the exact game or series but there was a set of refs.that called it until P.Jackson's decided to pull Bynum out of the game.tp

Forgot to mention that. I don't know how many times I screamed at home at the top of my lungs for 3 seconds to be called. Seriously, I've never seen such an abuse of that rule as I've seen in the last two games, not even with Howard.

Can I vote for a thread title change though? It hurts me to see "Perkens".

I though Perk played very well in game 2 (and I have been very critical of him these playoffs).  I thought he has kept his emotions under control, but I don't think it has been a bad thing.

The 3 second + camping in the paint is terrible. Far worse than the LA Shaq days.

If I were at the game I would gladly participate! I think it is a great idea!!
