it is your classic biy who cries wolf issue as well. he whines all the time that even if/when he has a valid point, it is hard to take him seriously. also, you never know if he legitimately feels what he is saying is just, or is he just politicking in the media for calls in the next game (which by the way, stern promised to come down on, primarily because of jackson himself).

but yes, i was sick of him long before this series. was sick of him right around 1993.

exactly. How does Phil get away without a fine after Stern's "make my day" comments? If Doc had whined about the refs he would be paying about 50,000 to a charity today. Instead, Phil's whining will get Stern to assign Salvatore, Bavetta, and Kennedy to game 3 and give Perk his next tech.

Doc complains all the time.

I think there are shades of complaining, you know? Doc is to the point (as much as he can be without getting fined) while Jackson's stuff is always filled with stuff between the lines and it always comes out in an arrogant fashion, in that anyone who disagrees with him should have their head examined. I hate that mentality.

OMG, now that's scary. Great OP and lots to think about here.
Why are the Celtics and Doc hated? Because they AREN'T whiny, arrogant, immature loudmouths. Look at Stern's face: His self-satisfied know-it-all expression is plainly sketched over his time worn face. Phil and Koby are his kind of people.

It scares me to think of how easy Ray Allen has gotten fouls this playoff season. The guy barely touches someone and gets called. I think it's a travesty that Stern has taken a beautiful game of skill and turned it into a corrupt hollywood show. Hopefully, at his age, he'll retire soon.

Phil's mind games are just plain stupid. I don't see Doc complaining about some contacts on BBD's rebound attempts throughout the playoffs.
