And of course this is only if KG, Perk, Sheed and Davis are in foul trouble.

I've always liked Scal at the 4, so I'd go with him. I think Doc trying to make him the back-up 3 earlier this year hurt him quite a bit.

Scal's my pick just because I think he can hold down the fort pretty mistake free for a few minutes.

The court is kept open. And if the guy hits a 3 in Boston, the crowd will go nuts.

He's not injured is he?

He definitely can't handle quicker 3's, but might be able to manage against LA's rather slow corps of SF's.  Sheldon was on Artest yesterday, after all...Scal would probably fare better (no foul chasing him at the 3pt line, for example).

PS:  I love how CB is do diehard that we have empassioned debates about who should dress as 12th man!

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Scal.  He's a pretty good defender against power forwards, and after Shelden's performance in Game 2, it's time to give somebody else a shot.

  • You say when......
the things guys like the most about scal's game....He never rebounds...always runs to the corner, like he is a kid trying to imitate Ray Allen, scal never "Gets" the ball, he thinks the team should pass to him, so he can try that "novelty" shot...in 10 years in the league he still hasn't developed, he hasn't ever dunked in a game, hates paint, no post moves, out of shape, no muscle at all, ...yes he is your man...! Imagine if he got paid to play ball full time, had access to some of the best coaches and players, to develop his game, imagine if he was the 6th highest paid player on the Celtics, and got paid to get in shape...well, that would be different...!

Bring back Mikki Moore in that case.I don't trust Shelden any more. Once is ok. But again? No. Stay on the bench where you can't hurt anyone. Scal AGAIN

although shelden provides more rebounds than our entire frontcourt in a quarter, scalabrine may get hot from the 3pt line like Ray did once in a while...
it really is a toss up in my opinion  ::)

Whoops. I meant to say Scal AGAIN did not work hard in the off season to get in great shape so I'd rather not let him see the court. I don't think he deserves it.

Shelden stunk last night and his 4 minute stint really hurt the team as they blew a lot of the lead they had built up in the first half.  However, what the celtics need primarily from that position is a guy who can put the body on the Lakers bigs and rebound.  That's Shelden more than Scal.

Scali.

He is good at the short term emergency role.

He plays good defense.

He does a good job putting a body on his man when shots go up.

He can stretch the floor a little.
