“Our big guys played great,” Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. “We didn’t get the ball often enough to them, or in a good enough position many times, and a lot of our outside shooting was not that (good). … In a sequence like this, there’s no doubt it’s a blow to us to lose the homecourt, but we anticipated this might happen, and we’re just going to have to go pick it up.”

If the Real KG Stands Up on Gasol, the Laker I fear the most (take that Kobe!), then that should happen. Regardless, of that, this is Rajon Rondo's series to lose, doesn't matter who is guarding him as long as he's pushing the ball after every stop. Ray Allen torching Fisher's 36 year old butt is a sweet sight to see also.

If LA had something better than Fisher to throw at Rondo or Ray defensively then they'd absolutely win the series, and easily. Thank God they don't. I particularly enjoy when Sasha comes on and tries to be pesky and gets burned because he's not actually a very good defender.

What exactly would be a better combination to throw at them? Cause there aren't too many back-courts that can handle ours defensively... I'd say there isn't one.

I think Ray and Rondo are superior to Wade and the garbage he played with this year.

Glad Ariza is gone. After game #1 I wasn't saying that and was bemoaning the fact that Artest brought the toughness and edge to the Fakers that they didn't have before. Artest is a defesive presence and has throughout his career been especially effective against the Captain. He would have no chance against the speed of RR or the constant movement of RA. Ariza could have guarded either of them far more effectively.Ariza's defensive versatility and speed would have been a big boon for the Fakers. Glad he is gone!!

There aren't many better starting defensive backcourts than the Lakers. Fisher is a great defender even at 36.

That's true.  Unfortunately he is too slow/short to really be effective against Ray, and he is too slow/old to match up against Rondo.  Kobe is one of the best one-on-one defenders in the league and the Lakers have to decide if he should stick with Rondo (faster but manageable) or with Ray (bumping into screens but manageable).  Unfortunately for them they cannot clone Kobe, so either Rondo or Ray (or both of them as happened last night) are going to have a big game.

As the Celtics starting guards go so goes the team.
