  • Rondo = Good
He's pretty much their whole city...if he leaves I have this feeling the entire thing will just collapse into a great heap of rubble and polluted water.

But this is just sad because they're acting like death will come if he leaves.. I really can't see us Boston fans going to this extent if PP was to leave...

Yeah..If I was Lebron, I'd put a stop to this madness and just decide on CLE.

His Idol, Michael Jordan, never held CHI hostage.

This video was, to me, rather tasteless.....they are essentially parodying a video that was made for Real World Serious Concerns.

It was originally made back in the 80's so maybe they are just out of touch over there in CLE.

Posimpos is correct, it will be practically like death if Lebron leaves.  Outside of the entertainment is the financial aspect of it.

A successful Cleveland Cavaliers team is a huge part of the Cleveland and Ohio economy.  Without Lebron, the local economy is going to take a massive hit.

MJ did randomly leave his team at the peak of his powers coming off a championship to go play minor league baseball for two-ish seasons only to come back late in the year reinsert himself into the lineup in time for the playoffs then negotiate a contract to be the highest paid player of all time.......

Lebron is just exercising his right to free agency

Good Point. I had forgotten about that.

It just seems as if the Media Circus with Lebron is too much, though...first the Larry King show....he had a spot on Nightline...sheesh!

I hear ya, LeBron is the love child of the hype machine 24 hour sports media cycle era. It is gross and I would like to think I wouldnt do it if I was in the same position but if nobody wanted to hear and see all of this stuff he wouldnt be doing it.

Pierce is not Lebron. And we were horrible when Pierce seemed on the verge of leaving.

What an embarrassing video.

Oh come on... how much of a difference does LeBron really make to their economy?  He leaves and they don't sell out games?  I'm skeptical.  I'm sure it will suck for their sports fans, but I have a hard time believing it will really make that big of a difference.  It's not like the Cavs will disappear.  They will still have a sports team.   Seattle lost the Sonics and I'm not sure how much it really impacted the economy here.   Hurt some of the local restaurants walking distance around the arena, but that's about it as far as I'm aware.

I have to go on a business trip and film something in Cleveland next week.  I hope it doesn't suck there as much as I expect it will.

Thought about it a little bit more.  Say the Cavs fans are a bunch of bandwagon fans and attendance drops in half for 41 games.  Maybe the city makes a little less money on taxes from ticket sales.  Maybe a few local hotels and restaurants get half the amount of business during those 41 days.  Maybe half the hotdog vendors are put out of business.  Maybe half the parking spots get filled on those 41 days.   Maybe they miss the playoffs and miss out on 5-6 home playoff games to cash in on.   Big deal.   Don't get me wrong... the Cavs will make less money... but none of that will really make a "major" impact on the Cleveland economy.

actually, he did. For both 96-97 and 97-98 he signed one year deals. Of course, the threat wasn't to leave, but to retire, but still...

I cannot believe that. I seriously cannot.

What are they thinking ?!

That was the strangest piece of media I have ever seen on a facet of the NBA.

Yeah, it was posted here before. Sad, hilarious and ridiculous at the same time.

How big Lebron's ego must be when he's watching stuff like that? He's like a messiah in Clevlend, peole worship him like god in ancient Rome and the media is hyping him without stop. How do you  stay grounded after all this?
