If KG comes out flat like he did today, I say don't hesitate to pull him, maybe light a fire in him and give sheed some minutes early.

Sheed has been good all playoffs, and I think if we see Gasol, Bynum, and Odom/Walton on the floor at the same time, I would like to see the lineup of
Perk-Bynum
KG-Walton/Odom
Sheed-Gasol

Anyone else like sheed in this series?

I don't expect KG to play like he did last night. He'll be back. Having Sheed play like he did certainly softened the blow.

Sheed did do a couple of bad things, though..the tech was unnecessary as was the foul on D Fish. He did it to try to fire up the team, but still...

I don't expect the same KG but you have to admit he has been fading away ever since his phenomenal cavs series.

Sheed's techs and stupid fouls...I think its just a necessary evil with Sheed. If he can continue his solid play at both ends, I'll take 1 or 2 bad poor judgement plays.

....better than 5-10 terrible decisions by TA.

Yeah, and TA's play didn't help either - I'm not sure if he's 100% healthy, though. He played Kobe well on a few possessions.

But I would keep Sheed's minutes the same. Both Perk and KG just need to rebound better or box out. It just looked too easy for Bynum and Gasol.

i dunno if you feel the same way, but i felt we could play better O and D if sheed is in there instead of perk.

Yes.  Perk can't even catch a pass under the basket. :-\  If Rasheed's back feels ok, he should play more than Perk.  I think Sheed's defense was better too.

From a Laker fan's perspective, I believe that Sheed needs to get more minutes than Perkins in this series if Boston wants to win. The Lakers struggle with outside shooting big men, and Boston's having a hard time spacing the floor. If you can't space the floor against the Lakers, it means that you have to come into the paint, where the long arms of Bynum/Gasol/Odom await. You're not gonna win that way. Sheed pulls one of those guys out of the paint, which opens things up for guys like Rondo, who had his shot blocked or altered several times yesterday for that exact reason.

You know the old saying "styles make fights"? That could very well be what we're seeing here. If I would have told you beforehand that the winner of last night's game would have been the tougher, more physical team, I believe that most Celtic fans would have assumed that they would have been the victors. Hot shooting can come and go, but physicality is something that you either have or you don't. The Laker team that showed up last night is the same one that I've been watching all year. This is a very physical squad, and the idea that we're similar to the '08 Lakers in terms of toughness is probably the biggest misconception about this team.

The teams that the Lakers have struggled with have been able to draw the Lakers away from this style...not beat them at it. OKC did it with athleticism, and Phoenix did it with outside shooting. The Celtics can't change their stripes at this point, but I think that they need to rely more heavily on the players that present matchup issues that the Lakers typically struggle with. I think Sheed is that guy.

I think this team needs a lineup of Sheed and KG out there for as many minutes as possible to win, because it will really open up the floor offensively, without giving up too much defensively (Perk is just not a great matchup in this series).  Unfortunately, Sheed's conditioning (which wasn't great in the first place) seems to have fallen off even more, with the back issues.  But hopefully he can build up his minutes later in the series.

I'd like to see some Perk on Gasol. I think Perk could slow him down.

I thought Sheed played good defense. The odd man out is Baby.

Pau generally has his way with players like Perkins. His foot speed advantage is too much for them. Then considering that Pau is longer than Perkins, I think that's a bad matchup for the Celtics. Faster & longer is a tough combo to deal with.

I said this at the beginning of the series, despite Davis playing well he doesn't matchup with this Lakers team.  Still, I expected him to produce more than he did last night.  Why did Davis play the entire 4th quarter practically?  It would have been great to see Rasheed get more minutes there.  Perkins should be ok... I just hope he rebounds a lot more!

From what I heard, Davis played because Sheed was exhausted.  His conditioning really went down hill with the back injury.

Yes. More minutes for Sheed in place of Perk instead of in place for KG. Perk is simply awful on the offensive end. Let Rasheed come in and stretch out their defense a little bit, and open some driving lanes for Rondo. If Bynum scores 20 against Rasheed on one leg, so be it.

I like the idea of giving Sheed more minutes... Especially for Big Baby rather than Perk. With the Lakers length in the front court, Baby, although intense, energetic, and a good hustler, is almost useless. Shots block on D and too easy shots going right over the top of his head on O.

More Sheed, more Nate rob. Less TA.
