Did any of you hear the comments Phil made about McHale?

I dont know when the press conference was, but someone asked Phil,

"Kevin McHale gave the coaching edge in the series to Doc Rivers. How do you feel about that?"

Phil - "Well he gave them Kevin Garnett, didn't he?"

Is that supposed to be a low-blow? Like the trade was cheap? Or that Doc could only win because he had KG, which is almost hypocritical since he could only win with MJ and Kobe.  Thats kinda what I felt but I could always be blowing it out of proportion.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Eh...  Phil being Phil.

If Kevin gave us KG, what do you consider the Pau Gasol "trade"?  I'll take this as a tacit admission that Jerry West was somehow involved in something shady.

Funny he should mention that when they were pretty much given Pau Gasol for nothing. Ok so Marc Gasol turned out to be good, but so is Al Jefferson.

After Gasol trade, which is one of the one sided trades ever, he should keep his mouth shut.

I actually think that is hilarious. Who cares what Phil says?  The guy should have a side gig as a standup.

While I won't say Jackson sucks, I seriously question whether he's anymore than a more fortunate Doc Rivers, Larry Bird, or K.C. Jones (coaches who excelled in juggling many talented egos).  In that light, I'm not ready to say that he's better than Doc; however, he's yet to ever coach a team that doesn't have a (arguably) the best player in the NBA on it (and at times, he's coached the two best).

phil jackson and pat riley have always taken cheap shots at the Celtics for one reason - jealousy.

Why does nobody mention Memphis giving them Gasol for zip when West was still associated with that team? Hell, why was KObe never suspended for his trouble ala Roethlisberger? Why is Artest still playing after attacking fans? Why am I so bitter?
