Through the playoffs Shaq and Kobe averaged 54ppg, 18rpg, 7apg... and they destroyed the Nets.

who wouldn't want the C's to get to the finals?  anything is possible.  Lakers would have been the heavy favorites and rightfully so but after seeing their monster comeback game against the Nets, I wouldn't have counted that team out.  Antoine was really driven at that point in his career, PP was an unbelievable scoring machine and the supporting cast could play absolutely stifling defense and bomb 3's all day.  I definitely wouldn't have written them off in that series.

I was the lone vote of us winning. I'd give us a chance, even back then - I think our team was tremendous from the perimeter, and with Antoine penetrating - who knows?

I think we had a chance to win.  We played LA tough that year in the regular season.  I think we split the games.  If I remember correctly, Toine won one of the games on a last second 3 point shot.

Yeah I'm not quite sure how you could vote against getting to the Finals.  That's counterintuitive to being a fan, IMO. Pierce torched LA that year as well but, LA would have crushed us because Shaq.  Although Kobe may have shot them out of a few games.  You never know.
