Mo Williams -- complete scrub.

While Mo is the definition of a frontrunner, he's a good enough shooter that it's tough to make the case for him being the worst all-star of all time. How many guys can say that they are career 40% 3-point shooters? The past 2 seasons combined he's shot around 43% from deep and over 90% from the foul line. I don't like him but he wasn't that horrible of a selection.

I think this should be not so much for fan voting which by the way is STUPID.  But in who really doesn't deserve to be anywhere near an allstar.
AC Green not a problem with him as a player getting more votes of course but I'd welcome him on our team any day.

BUT just to throw this out there, someone who has to be considered is our own Antoine Walker you can argue about numbers but I have seen few guys look so out of place in an all star game, no the wiggle doesn't get my vote but....

Are you serious? I know some people aren't enormous fans of Antoine, but he was a legitimate mid-range star in this league for a number of years. It doesn't really matter how he performed in his all-star games, he deserved to be there.

By far the worst performance at an allstar weekend has got to go to Birdman Anderson.

I think he was COKED out of his mind at the time....horrid.

Worst "VETERAN" ALL-STAR might be Antoine.

-Mo Williams (wouldn't start for more than half of NBA teams, I'd say)
-Tayshon Prince
-Wally Z
-Van Exel

I have to disagree on Wally and Van Exel.  Van Exel I think should have made more than one team.  Wally was Minnesota for a long time.  Tayshaun Prince has never made an all star team before. 

As far as "in hindsight" bad choices look no further than Boston's own Dana Barros.

Upon further review, I did see those stats 19, 8 from him... impressive.  Also I came up with Rik Smits, Ilgauskas, Dana Barros, and Memo Okur.  For some reason, when I think Memo Okur, "All-star" doesn't come to mind...

For those who said Mo Williams, I'd say he was not much a worse pick than Devin Harris that year.  In the game itself, Mo posted a +1 with 12 pts, 5 asts.  Devin posted a game worst -31 on 6 pts, 0 asts.  While Devin had better counting numbers during the reg. season, he did it on a garbage team shooting only 43.8% fg.

By the way, now everybody check out the elite group that makes up the NBA All-Star MVPs.  Don't you agree that list wouldn't be complete if Mitch Richmond and Glen Rice weren't on it?

Besides Mo Williams and Jamal Magloire that were already mentioned, I'd have to say one of the Davis boys - I think it was Antonio.  That was a joke, but more a result of having to pick a center and there being no good centers in the east to put on the bench.

The majority of the stupid picks are a result of having to stick to the format of picking per position for the bench.

In an early 1990s episode of Married... with Children, light mockery was made at Ainge's expense: At a fictional All-Star basketball game attended by the Bundy family, the public announcer said Ladies and Gentleman, Here are your NBA All Stars and Danny Ainge!. Rik Smits and Z dont deserve to be on that list.  Z's made two all star appearances, in '03, as an all star reserve he averaged I believe 17, 7, and about 2 blocks.  In 2005 he average 17, 8, and 2 blocks.  Those arent jaw dropping numbers but theyre respectable enough to warrant all star discussion, especially at how thin the Center position is in the NBA.

The same case for Rik Smits as well, he had a respectable career.  There have been plenty worse all stars than these guys.
