Man, Kobe just pulled a "Paul Pierce" on the Captain, getting him up into the air on the foul.

Was about to say the same. But PP gets him back. Now, that wasn't really a foul on Kobe but it is how they have been calling the game and we've been whistled for the equivalent so all is fair.

So far this game has been called evenly but horribly...way too ticky-tack on both ends.

And not how to close out a quarter.

Ouch.  Terrible plays by Pierce (quick three) and Rondo (no-focus turnover) to close out the quarter.

With Bynum out, the Lakers interior is a lot more vulnerable. Boston need to take advantage when he is on the bench.
Outside of Tony's miscues ... I thought the Celtics finished the quarter well and took advantage of LA with Bynum on the bench.

Ahh ... those two plays (layups), three plays (steal), by Farmer undid a lot of their quality work over the previous few minutes.

Lucky to be down only 5. Defense was bad for most of the quarter, and Michael Finley cannot guard Red's statue. And, way too many fouls -- 18 total called. Really an awful first period of basketball for the NBA finals. Come one refs. let them play.

Finley can't defend a chair. :o

Sloppy end of the quarter, you just can't have it. The steal by Farmar was outrageous for our focus. Gotta refocus and play better!!

I'd so much rather go small with Nate than slow with Fin.
