Oh yeah, for sure. Even though both sides have to play 1 game at a time, the Lakers pretty much have to hold their home court in BOTH of the first 2 games. If they drop game one to Boston the pressure is going to go through the roof.

rondo improving:

Rondo update from ESPN LA's Ramona Shelburne ... Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo said he won't be 100 percent healthy by Thursday's Game 1 of the NBA Finals, but he'll be close enough.

"I'm about 67 percent today," Rondo joked, before the Celtics practiced at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. "I won't be a 100 percent by Thursday, but I'll be like 94.7.

"Right now, nobody in the Finals right now is 100 percent. If you find someone let me know who is, let me know. You can ask the Lakers too. One of our rookies might be 100 percent."

Sorry I could not resist:

I would be most surprised if this was not posted somewhere else. Jack is one helluva actor.

Now for my series prediction:

Celtics in 5 games -

The Celtics take care of business on the road where they are extremely tough this year and then this time they close this out at home…….

Originally, I thought this team would win 70 games after they went 23-5 after whipping Orlando in Orlando on Christmas Day without Paul Pierce…. The blueprint to number 18 was forged there.

Doc and Company chose another path from that day forward and chose the cruise control method (or GPA decided to let Rondo finally lead them).

Anyways decisively beating Cleveland and Orlando in Six games in the true power conference has me sold.

The Lakers are an interesting study but defense and rebounding win championships and I think the Celtics are better at both. Plus they should the turnover ratio.

And I think Doc is a better coach than Puxatawny Phil.

I don’t care that Kobe and Gasoft are looking for revenge. Lebron could not chop off the Green Monster’s Head. Neither could Howard’s elbow. If Ron Artest and Lamar Odom emerge out of no where to become Micheal Cooper and James Worthy – we would have a series on our hand. Do you see that happening? Andrew Bynum and Gasoft are no Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Kobe ain’t Magic either.

Celtics in 5 games……

Nicholson can’t handle the Truth.

There's a replay of the Celtics/Lakers Sunday afternoon game on ESPN 2 right now ... it's an unlisted showing ... it's supposed to be the National Spelling Bee.

LOL @ Doc. I honestly don't know how we always don't start games firing on all cylinders given how impressive Doc's powers of motivation are. This is much much better than lamely offering $50 to take charges. Zen master my foot.

Quote
Back on the night of Feb. 18, after beating the Lakers by a point at the Staples Center, Doc Rivers asked everyone in the Celtics party - players, coaches, trainers, administrators - to each give him $100.

The Celtics coach promptly stuffed the money in an envelope.

“If we want to get this money back, we’ll have to come back here in June,” said Rivers, ever the master of turning something into a motivational moment.

He then hid the envelope, which contained approximately $2,500 in various kinds of bills, in an undisclosed nook in the arena’s shoebox-like visitor’s locker room.

#20 in Q's best moments in the NBA Finals ----

1969 - Game 7 Hardly remember the game but in the middle of the night Nelson hit the back of the rim and the ball miraculously dropped through the hoops. And a new tradition was born for me.
