Doug Collins next year? with Doug Collins out of the broadcasting buissness (thank god) and back to being a coach who would you like to see take his place working along side Marv Albert?.. i like the ESPN crew but ive allways thought that the TNT & ABC commentators were a bit old fashion the last few years and really borring to listen to.

I think they have lacked personality, someone with a actual opinon on the games and various topics like a Jeff Van Gundy (dont become a coach please)

Bill Walton is making a comeback next year for the King's. I'd love to see him on the national scale again.

I also would love it to be Bill Walton.  I don't know what Chris Webber's situation is, but I'd like him as well.

I'd also like Walton back.  He's a moron who's totally in is own world, but I find him extremely entertaining.  I find him hilarious when he is trying to be serious.

I certainly don't want to see this happen, but...... Doc Rivers. I think it's a foregone conclusion that he's leaving the C's.

I think Doc will be back.  Would he really walk away if we win the championship?

I think that would almost be the ideal situation for him to walk away from.  Pulls old players together, gets them to rally to essentially miracle championship, and then retires, only to come back to Boston to see Banner 18 raised.

After all, the Celts are an old team, and its going to be hard for them to rebuild and compete in the next few years.  I'd say if I were Doc it would be a good time to leave.

If we win the title this year, I think it puts Doc within striking distance of the Hall of Fame.  One more title and he'd be a lock.  Plus, Cleveland and Orlando could very well be weakened in free agency, meaning that our path to the title should be wide open next season.

Would Doc give that up -- plus several million dollars and the chance to coach a team he seems to genuinely like -- to spend time at home?  He might, but I don't think so.

i think that if the c's win this year, doc is gone!  he'll have nothing else to prove and (as much as it pains me to say it), this was a very good coaching job by him.  if he does leave, i'd like to see them go after jay wright, villanova - seven years as coach and has done a really good job and has a very good record.  he has also been an assistant coach for the usa team so he has experience with nba players.

Kevin McHale. Even though I would like him to replace Doc when he walks

I think Doc goes this year. If he comes back next year I don't think his heart will be in it. Losing Tommy Tibs, aging Vets, Sheed caring less by one year, Rondo one year better and butting heads more.

Let's say he walks now - goes to TNT with Marv to make most of the pay, but without the grind and as much road time. Get's to help his kid through senior year, etc.

Now in three years his kids are all grown up - the wife and he can go wherever. He didn't taint his championship shine - he can come back wherever he wants. If he picks a strong location - he can win a championship again or two, and that puts him HoF.

If he stays and things go bad without Tommy Tibs - it could start to bring about a lot of the old questions about his ability. Essentially Tommy Tibs would be the Belicheck to his Parcells... especially if Thibs has success. (DA and Thibs were the front office / coaching keys to success.)

UPDATE: the only overwhelming reason to stay would be if he is going to do another long run. Coach through the rebuild, etc.

I wonder if Danny would go back to the bench for a two or three years, well the teardown happens...
