Even before I read this, I believe KG/KP will eat Pau for lunch like in 2008.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Reading that...they look shook man. I mean someone else, a more level headed guy might say they're being "realistic" or "rational".

No me though. Nobody ever accused me of being rational during the playoffs. I'd call them 'shook'.

It speaks volumes to me that the Laker fans are worried about whether multiple players on their team will "show up".

This is the freaking finals - and they're worried Pau/Odom may not show!

A very good sign for Boston.

I wouldn't count on a soft Gasol guys. He still remembers 2008 and the revenge factor will be there. I still hope that KG, Perkins or whoever guards him will be tougher but Gasol won't be easy.

Lakers are going to wait for Kobe to bail them out.

It's going to be tough for Kobe to do that for 4 straight games.

I doubt Ron Ron will drop 25 on us with regularity.

One hot shooting game for Ron Ron is about the most you can get out of him.

They need at least 20-25 quality minutes (good role player level) from Andrew Bynum to battle Boston on the inside. They need his physical size, his defense and his rebounding.

Otherwise, Boston's physical play will destroy the Lakers.

Scared to death and scared to look, they shook.

Funny thing is Pau is the player that has me most worried in this series.

KG is maybe the greatest help defender in NBA history but is a very average 1v1 post defender. He doesnt have the strength to deal with a skilled post player and is constantly moved under the basket.

If Gasol shows up and gets 16+ shots a game in the post I think this becomes a very tough series.

I am also 100% sure Kobe would never give up enough touches to a post player and risk a teammate winning MVP of the finals. He wants to beat the celtics his way.

I would be more worried about Bynum personally. He is the reason they lost the finals in '08 (so i'm led to believe ;)) and if he isn't healthy then the length of the C's is gonna cause some havoc.

Gasol is who he is though. You can't expect him to be a grind it out kind of guy against the likes of KG, Sheed, Perk. I'm not saying he isn't a great player, he's one of the best... but in a seven game series you cannot expect finesse to get you over the edge.

For me, at least - I wouldn't sleep on Gasol. I think KG can handle him, but I am sure he has some venom in him after the 2008 debacle.

He is one of the most polished big men to play the game over the last few years - I wouldn't say the most polished (KG or Duncan?), but his game is very solid.

As long as the Refs allow us to play our brand of ball (fairly) then I feel very comfortable about this series.

pau does not play well when he has to deal with physical players....both offensively and defensively.

if the refs call fouls/non-fouls even remotely similar to how they did with celtics and orlando, pau will be in trouble.

he is quick and talented, but he will not be able to consistently rebound, block out, or play defense against boston's physical players - perk, kg, baby, and sheed.

also, boston is giving no one a free and easy lay up in the playoffs. i believe that when pau gets beat up a few times under the basket, he will move to the outside and take more jumpers. that frees up the paint for boston to rebound.

unless bynum suddenly gets healthy and gains some IQ points, the lakers should have trouble matching boston's physical play near the basket. that means edge to boston in that area.

go celtics!!!!

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
