I like what little I saw of Nate in game 4 and game 5.  He looks like he'll work hard on the defensive end and we could use his offense, especially if Davis isn't going to play. If Rondo plays really well, then it's mute, but if Rondo plays the way he did the last two games, I say play the kid.

Do any of you think he should play?

Honestly, i think everybody should play, including Scal. The reason is because, our starters are being gassed. Rondo is exhausted trying to fight through moving screens all night. KG is being sandwiched in the post by Howard and Lewis. Let the bench guys come in and give us a spark, and buy the starters some rest. I think the crowd could definitely feed off of it.

I definitely think he should play... Especially because Rondo is playing soooo many minutes, he is going to run out of gas, and we have seen that in games 4 and 5.

And i agree, everyone should play. You carry a 12 to 15 man rotation for a reason. They Celtics dont just have 8 or 9 players they have 15... Give some other guys minutes, the starters are so dead tired.

NATE should see time if only to lay some wood on the Magic players. He's on tough SOB.

I would like to see him, but not him bringing the ball up. If I remember correctly most of Eddie's best games he was not running the offense but trying to free himself for a 3. I think Nate is very close to the shooter Eddie is. His defense was also solid last night. If he can get consistent minutes he won't be afraid to shoot and could light it up.

I like what I saw from Nate in game 5. Very solid and active defensively (which Rondo hasn't been at all in games 4 and 5). Plus he brings some shooting offensively.

I think he should get minutes, especially since Rondo often looks totally gassed and gets burnt every time defensively.

Yup, I'm down with Nate playing 8 minutes or so. Rondo and TA need some rest.

Don't mistake Nate for Eddie.  Nate can create his own shot. He can also drive to the basket and hopefully get someone in foul trouble.

I just remembered that Doc said Nate was going to win a game for them.  Well how is he going to do that if he doesn't play?

He has played though.  He had an opportunity last night.  Doc knows what he can do, and knows that in the long playoffs, there will likely be a time when they need what he brings to the table.  It certainly looks like that time has come, because of the injuries, as well as the matchups.

I have a feeling he will see some more minutes tomorrow night, and will be given every opportunity to get hot, and lead a run.  Let's just hope he does it, and does not shoot them out of the game.

The time for experimentation with Nate's minutes have come and gone. Unless there are reasons due to injury that he HAS to be used, then he should be riding pine.

I think NATE needs to go in and pop Nelson! NATE is a very physical player and he should just come in and give some hard fouls and maybe shoot the ball. Williams should and Scal should also come in for some hard fouls. Let's get physical!

Only if Tony Allen can't go.

Well, it sounds like Doc is leaning that way.

from: http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/celtics

Quote
Boston's coach sounded less enthusiastic about Tony Allen and his injured ankle, noting that it's really affecting his play and that the team might have to consider going in another direction for Game 6.

Personally, I felt Nate did the best of any of our guards in terms of fighting through picks in Game 5.  Given his limited playing time, I think he could surprise Orlando in Game 6, especially if he's aggressive off the pick-and-roll--he's the only point guard we have who hit a 3 behind a pick and since Orlando hasn't had to guard that this series, it could catch them with their pants down.  He should be motivated to make an impression, if anything.  Of course, the problem with Nate is that he can't play with Rondo, meaning he'll have to do his damage in short minutes--that's tough for any player.

Marquis looks like he's OUT (according to the same article linked above), so TA might end up getting spot minutes at the 2/3 anyway.  As limited as TA has been since the ankle injury, he's been a whole lot more effective than Finley.
Folly. Persist.
