Please provide a video clip of Dwight clearly charging right thru a set Pierce and then dunking over his sprawled body and then taunting him while he was on the ground.

That, in my mind, set the tone for the rest of the game.

PLEASE provide this link.

Thanks,

Smitty77

Exactly, that was a picture perfect foul on Howard, and you knew where the game is going from there

I think the problem on that play was Pierce tried to sell it too much. Would love to see the video again.

Howard's charge on PP about 3 minutes in

In my mind, I have NEVER seen a clearer charge in my life!!  That set the tone for the entire game.  Dwight obliterates PP, and then jams and proceeds to taunt him while PP lays flat on the ground.

It is fascinating how this highlight was NOT on nba.com.

David Stern knows that was a horrifically missed call.

The game was really over at that point.

From what I say, it wasn't a charge.  In a lot of cases, they would have called it as a charge, but they shouldn't.  Pierce had the spot, but Howard pulled up, and Pierce over sold it.

Of course this is the problem.  The refs are so inconsistent, that no one knows what a charge (or any foul) actually is anymore.

I retract what I wrote earlier. That was clearly an offensive foul. Once Howard got away with that, he knew the night was his.

Yeah, after that play I worried we were in for a WWE game. Disgusting. If Howard can do anything he wants, he will... That wasn't basketball.

Technicals, concussions... what's next?

Sure the Celtics have to fight harder on defense and try to win no matter who is against you, but last night was disgusting.

And its freaking hard to when your big men are ejected and get elbowed into a concussion.

If this keeps up, I am all for an eye for an eye. Perhaps thats the only way the NBA and media will be forced to take notice.

Sure Pierce sold it... but barely. Pierce had position, Howard gave him the shoulder while still carrying his forward momentum. Howard did not stop and go exactly straight up.

I was saying to my brother last night, I'd like to see a mix of all the questionable plays/dirty plays by Dwight Howard in this series.  He's had free rein to really beat our guys up.

Seriously. If the Celtics are just outplayed, fine. I'll suck it up.

But game 5 is gonna live in infamy in my mind. The refs clamped down on the C's right away, and let Dwight go to town.

Man, what I would give to be in Boston in the Garden on Friday night. Give Dwight hell, Boston!!! Go Celtics!!!

both pierce and baby were outside the restricted zone and got called for blocking but Rondo got called for charging...the NBA, Stern and the zebras are gutless cowards...

I found this to be relatively inoffensive last night despite the fact that it set the tone for the magic who were reeling a bit early, but the replay clear shows we're both wrong. It's a 100% text book offensive foul. It only could have been an easier call if he'd left his feet. But regardless -- it's the definition of a foul.

Pierce's recent diving reputation probably didn't help, but this was pretty obvious in being an offensive foul.

As I said in the other thread, there was a slight moment of hesitation on both Howard's part and the crowd's part after that play. Howard immediately looked at ed Rush after the play expecting the call. The crowd kind of did the same thing as the cheer was a bit delayed. After no call came, Howard jumps and starts his taunt and the crowd went nuts.

Every single person in that arena that the call was coming. Pierce and the Celtics were expecting it thinking it was a foul. Howard and the Magic were expecting it and were getting ready to gripe about it. The crowd delayed reaction awaiting the call.

It sure looked like the only person in the arena that didn't think it was a foul on Howard was Ed Rush. Strange, very strange.

Not long after that KG picks up his second foul as did Rondo and the Magic started whacking people everywhere knowing that it didn't matter because they weren't going to get called for it.

3 minutes into the first quarter and this game had already been decided by the refs and this one call. Two concussions on no foul calls, a player thrown out of the game on a technical foul so egregious that the NBA rescinded it within 24 hours, and another player on the Celtics fouling out with 2-3 others in foul trouble all night but the NBA wants fans across the country to believe they have no problems with officiating

Pathetic
