Frankly, I'm shocked they actually rescinded one of those techs, considering that ridiculous tech they gave Carter in the series for arguing on his way to the bench, which they chose not to rescind.

Glad we can move on now, and focus on having our starting five intact for Game Six. I like our chances.

It was the second one. Pierce's foul on Redick upgraded to a flagrant 1

Not doubting you, but do you have a source?

Both of the Perk + Gortat double Ts should have also been rescinded.  Knocking the ball out of a guy's hand is not a technical in the playoffs, and bumping a guy while helping up a teammate should never be one.

The refs set the tone for a physical game with Howard's flattening of Pierce and then overreacted to some really petty stuff.  Not a conspiracy, just plain incompetence.

Perkins gets 2d technical rescinded, will play in Game 6
Link|Comments (2)Posted by Gary Washburn Globe Staff May 27, 2010 12:41 PM
The Celtics received a major break after last night's disastrous Game 5 loss to the Orlando Magic as the lead rescinded Kendrick Perkins' second technical that was called by official Eddie F. Rush. Perkins, who now has six playoff technicals, will be eligible to play in Game 6 tomorrow at TD Garden.

However, the NBA also upgraded Paul Pierce's foul on J.J. Redick in the fourth quarter was upgraded to a Flagrant 1 after Pierce shoved Redick chasing a loose ball.

The Celtics likely will not have news on the conditions of Glen Davis or Marquis Daniels until tomorrow morning. Both will undergo neurological test to determine whether they can play after sustaining concussions in Game 5.

they didnt rescind both because it is a way to keep perk under control. he can play but he cant screw around and get the 7th tech

That and the NBA doesn't want to appear to bed doing too many favors for the C's.  They really can't take back the 2nd and not the first though.

Both should have been rescinded. Perk now under big pressure, as one more T and he is gone for a game.

Let him miss game 1 against the Lakers.  We just need to win on Friday!

Well, thankfully this shows that a mistake was made. Here's hoping that Perk just plays.

Thank God.

There's no doubt in my mind that Dwight and the other ORL players will try to push his buttons to get him ejected again. ORL (thinks) they have life again, and I won't be surprised at what they may try next.

Thanks CIO and vinnie.  Good news.  TPs for both of you - congrats on 700 and a nice symmetrical post count.

Yup, this is our game 7 just like in the Cleveland series.

We can't go back to Orlando.

The good news starts to flow. Great news on Sheed. Come on Baby -- pass that neurological test.

some might say he would fail it without the concussion.  : )

Did you just suggest that the C's should use Scal to knock Dwight Howard out? ;)
