I think we all fully expect the league to take away at least the first tech on Perks and maybe the second one.  That said, he definitely needs to mature a lot.  If they only take away one of the techs, he will be on the verge of a 1-game suspension for his next tech.

That is completely unacceptable.  For a guy to earn enough techs to get suspended in the post season says he is completely out of control.  He complains about every single call against him and that simply has to stop.

If we can win the next game, Perk will be needed moving forward.  Stop blaming the refs for everything and get yourself together.

4 of them are double techs.

Meaning he and another big man (most likely Shaq) are basically battling for position very hard.  They both get really physical so they just call a double T.

Perk definitely has issues. I think he will dodge a bullet here, but he needs to learn from KG. KG is usually nuts, but he knows when he needs to be careful to stay in the game.

Perk is more like Sheed. Sheed often cannot stop when he is angry without a teammate intervening. Sheed just doesn't play enough minutes right now to earn a missed game.

I find it hard to imagine that if we go to the finals, Perk won't get called for at least 1 double tech. I hope he can prove me wrong by learning the KG two hands in the air move if someone instigates.

About last night. Both T's should be rescinded and the both refs fined.

To your point he needs to control himself but, a controlled Perk is not our best Perk.  So it's a double edged sword.

Yeah, and those are terrible calls. Just call a double foul - no need to send a player down the suspension route.

Technicals should be for unsportsmanlike conduct. Hard position battling hardly qualifies... Elbows, language towards the refs, extreme taunting - these are tech worthy.

Perk is starting to get the old Sheed tratment.  Complain after every single play and give the 'your an idiot' look to the ref time and time again and they are going to call quick technicals.

Perk does need to mature.  Sure, his first tech was questionable, but he should have known from that point forward the whistle was going to be quick last night.  Sometimes refs have little power trips and you can't play into their hands.  Perk plays right into their hands.

The technical will be rescinded (at least one, maybe both) but Perk killed his team last night by not being the bigger man and just playing ball.

Yeah the same thing LJ does on every call.. well the 1 call he gets a month that is.  And no the ref killed Perk last night.

Here is my problem...

We're down 8 at the half. Orlando scores 56 points in the second half and Baby and Sheed both end up sustaining injuries in the game.

I understand this may be some revisionist history, but I cannot ignore the impact on not only the second half of Game Five but also the entire series due to that that second technical.

The league admits the second was an incorrect call. But, we lose our starting center for the second half of a series clinching game against the top center in the league and sustian two injuries that possibly could have been avoided if that call doesn't occur.

How is this reasonable?!!

I agree with the OP about Perk needing to grow up. It's obviously frustrating getting bs fouls called, but fouls don't get reversed, so pleading one's case isn't going to get you anywhere, even if you're LBJ.

But last night's 2nd tech was like nothing I've ever seen. i know it's been rescinded, but I feel like Perk made less of a reaction than he normally does. He made a face, muttered some words, all with his back turned, and was on his way. Still can't believe it. And like others have mentioned, maybe Davis doesn't get a concussion and Sheed doesn't tweek his back....frustrating stuff.

Forgive me for being unobservant and possibly asking a dumb question, but, is it the same refs for the entire series, or do they change game to game?

The refs change from game to game.  And yes, Perk complains about every single call (it seems) that goes against him.  I think if I were a ref, he would get on my nerves as well.  But yeah, rescinding the second and not the first tech is complete BS.  Absolutely ridiculous.
