  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Well, when elbows aren't considered fouls, and over-the-back isn't considered a foul, and when moving screens aren't fouls, it's easier to explain.

(The above, of course, only applying to the folks wearing blue and white).

Also a lot of his worst hacks were after the whistle was blown on another player's foul. Which of course means you get a free shot.

The NBA needs to fire at least 75 percent of its refs and start over. The incompetence is mind-blowing. Last night's game represented a come-to-Jesus moment for me.

Good point. Remember JVG praising Posey for that in 2008? Look at Pierces throwing JJ after the whistle to avoid the and-1. Essentially the same thing Howard did except Howard actually went for a block before landing on the already fouled player (was it Rondo).

Of course, the victim fans on both sides with cry about the plays that went against their team, saying Pierce or Howard should get called for more when both plays were typical playoff defense (no free shots!).

I really hope all the Celtics come out of the locker room for game 6 wearing the white, goofy-looking, protective headband Scal had to wear last year after his concussions. I think it would make a great statement.
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

Howard is the biggest cheap shot artist in the league.  He only had two fouls because he makes all of his blows look like accidental contact after the whistle.  I can't stand the guy!
