Why nothing good is going to come of the officials in game 5 going forward.

I think we all agree (for the most part) that the official allowed the Magic big men to be more physical then all other players on the court (give them credit, the called fouls on all the other Magic player when there was contact)




Now, the negative for the Celtics going forward.

1) Possible no Perk.

2) Possible no Davis

3) Possible no Daniels.

4) The overreaction from the officials next game.  They called thing tight and early.  Celtics never get the chance to get their defense dug in because they are not allowed to be physical at all.

We got a league job from the officials with agendas against the Celtics cause. I knew the game was lost from the git - go when I saw Eddie F Rush and Joey F Crawford working the game. Those Technical Fouls called were a DISGRACE to the INTEGRITY of the NBA. The F obviously stands for a word that will get me banned from the Forum and the Chat Room. The Celtics get whistled for breathing on the Magic player and a T for staring at the official. If Mike Breen, JVG, and Marc Jackson are openly critical of the officials and Mike and Mike are basically saying the Celtics are getting screwed, you have a serious problem David Stern.

I already know that the Referees for Game 6: Knick Bavetta, Bennett Salvatore and Docs nemisis Joe Kennedy. Violet Palmer, where out thou, maternity leave?

And what about Dwights elbow single handedly putting our Celtics out of commission? We are so danged hurt, it will be a miracle if we get out of this series and onto Los Angelos.

Actually, no; I don't think a game called tightly or loosely necessarily helps or hurts the Cs. 

As a player, you're taught to adjust to the officiating on any certain night.  What hurts the Cs is when they aren't allowed to be physical with Dwight, yet he's allowed to be physical with them.  Just call the game consistently on both ends.  Don't allow Howard to run over a set and squared Paul Pierce on one play, and then whistle KG for merely tapping the ball away from Howard on the next play.  One call sets the precedence of 'letting them play' and the other contradicts it by sending our best player to the bench with his 2nd foul on a play where there was little or no contact.

If the game is called fairly for both sides, I don't care if it is called tightly or loosely.  It is when one side is allowed to be very physical and the other side is not that it becomes obvious that the refs have an agenda.  Last night the Celtics were being called for incidental contact while the Magic players were allowed to give concussions, dislocate shoulders etc. Interesting to see that they upgraded Pierce's push on Redick to a flagrant 1 but failed to upgrade any of Howard's elbows that caused injuries to flagrants.

i do not want that either. a fairly officiated game where the better team wins. i know that is against all the nba stands for right now, but that is all i want.

i actually feel the first four games, even game four, were relatively well officiated and fair. a call here or there, but for the most part, it was ok. last night threw all that out the window.
