Ironic how we spent the first two games mauling Howard and now everyone gets all self-righteous. Kinda hilarious.
I seem to be forgetting, who was it that elbowed Howard in the head in the first three games?

One HUGE difference is that when we "mauled" him it was called a foul (really wrapping up a guy and slapping him across the arms is "mauling" now?).

Ahhh great post, TP.
Your apology accepted. It's our players faults for trying to get Dwight to elbow them in the face. The refs saw right through that.

besides the fact that our "mauling" howard got called (whereas the magic's bigs' shots at us often don't), we didn't maul him any more than they mauled us. we played him physical, just like he played us. the games weren't called all that egregiously.

Exactly.  Most of our fouls were wrapping him up or still attempting to make a play on the ball.  They weren't dirty fouls.  Dwight Howard just tosses his elbows around.  I don't know if it's intentional or not, but it won't stop until they call it a foul.

Great post. You've got to stop a bully fast in his tracks, otherwise he'll continue because there are no consequences to his actions.

there is such an incredibly clear and completely different intent with wrapping someone up on a hard foul as we have been doing and then doing what Howard's been doing.

There is "zero" comparison. Had Howard come down on Pierce's shoulders and actually tried to make a play on the ball...I've got no issue.

What Howard's been doing? I've got elbows to Rondo's face, to Baby's face, to KG's head, to Baby's head, to Perkin's head, Paul Pierce has taken a "number" of shots.

There is no comparison. What the refs and stern have been letting Howard get away with is unconcsionable.

Again, fi the refs arent' going to protect my guys, you can bet I will. And after I've gotten soem blood on him? I might turn to the refs and let them know they're next unless they start calling it. Let them T me up.

I'll tell you something else; great, great point Reggie35 and TP for you.

I can absolutely gurantee you if we had Kurt Thomas on this team, Howard would be some serious pain immediatley after the hit by Pierce. I LOVE Thomas' toughness.

If there is one thing this team lacks, it's a POwe, Kurt Thomas, PJ, Posey type toughness.

We have tough guys, but not nasty tough. Perkins is but the refs don't let him get away with it.

Kurt Thomas they do because he knwos how to do it.

You think Bird would have taken this? He would defiantley have undercut Howard on a dunk, or figured away to make sure his elbow met Howard's face.

TP, Scoobs.

I am so incredibly sick of how this guy gets away with murder, and always has ... I truly wish someone, (Sheldon, preferrably), would knock that nauseating "I didn't do nothin' wrong, Mommy!" smile off his face, and follow it up with a little pay-back to Barnes as well.

If this were the 80's, (or even early-to-mid 90's), we wouldn't even be discussing it ... it would've been taken care of already. Seriously, it's a good thing I wasn't at the game on Wednesday, cuz when I saw Big Baby struggling to get to his feet, with that concussive look in his eyes, I was about as angry as I've been in a very, very long time.

I've had enough of this guy's crap, and someone's got to do something about it, though sadly, it doesn't appear that the NBA intends to. If Doc doesn't put Sheldon in this game for that sole purpose, then I can guarantee you if Nate gets the chance to play, he won't hesitate.

Say what you want about the little guy, but he is fearless, and would just as soon take on a 7-footer as he would anyone else. I hope it's not left up to him, because it would be a sad statement that the smallest guy on the team is the only one with the stones for it, but something must be done, (while hopefully not costing us the game).

The best way to get back at the alleged Superman is to hold him to a 5 point, 5 foul performance in game 6.  I'm looking forward to seeing laserbeam lefty hooks cracking the backboard.  The boys in Green will take up the challenge I'm sure.

What truly makes me wonder though is how he's magically never in foul trouble anymore ... interesting eh?

I agree - why not hit Howard hard, but in the course of play, going for the ball, etc.  Have Sheldon Williams do it.  Even if it gets called a Flagrant 1 for some reason, it's not a huge deal and it sends a message to the Magic that the Celtics aren't going to be pushed around.

Stern wants a C's/Lakers finals.  So, Howard gets in foul trouble tonight ... mark my words.  Go C's!  Win this scripted playoff!

Seriously, I need someone to explain to me how this works...KG gets suspended for a game for an elbow to QRich's face, Howard gives someone a concussion and they don't even call a foul?
Good food, like good music and good love, always requires a little sweat in the making in order for it to be truly memorable.

I think someone should start a twitter account for Dwight's elbow now that Lebron's elbow isn't in the playoffs anymore.
