When Ray or Pierce play one terrible game you eat them up. Rondo has stunk up the place for 2 straight games. It must the elbow  ::)

Rondo was a little better tonight than game 4, but has been completely outplayed by Jameer Nelson again. I have no answers, other than I think he is playing with an injury.

something is wrong with rondo. he's not moving at his normal pace. part of why nelson has gotten more open (aside from a lot of illegal picks that never get called). rondo isn't using it as an excuse, but it is very obvious he's not 100%.

Well, if you ask my Dad - who by the way is absolutely insufferable when the Celtics are playing badly - it's because the Magic are making "adjustments."

I think he doesn't look at all like himself out there.  Something's wrong, whether physical or mental.

But certainly I think we can cool it with all of the "Rondo is Top 10 in the NBA" and "Rondo is better than Chris Paul and Deron Williams" crap.  When Rondo is on his game, he's amazing.  But when he's off his game, he's a liability - much more so than those other guys.  Rondo certainly plays like a superstar at times, but he is NOT a superstar yet.

He's hurt.

KG has leg issues so we give him a pass for not being explosive, not getting as many rebounds, and not having any lift. It is what it is.

Rondo has leg issues and we expect him to play with insane speed, fight over picks, pick up full court defense, close out well on 3 pt shooters.

Obviously, Rondo playing like this isn't going to win any games. The medical staff better find a fix - more pickle juice, whatever it may be... we need him to be the best player on the floor on Friday.

The numbers are deceiving, Rondo was terrible tonight. -18 when Rondo was on the Floor. If Rondo isn't aggressive, Rondo is a liability still. Jameer owned him for the second straight game. He stopped doing everything that made him a great player.

Rondo is hurt, he was limping in tonight's game to boot.

We're in a world of hurt guys.

We need a super human performance to get us out of this.

He better not play too well, the refs will just eject him.

When Rondo doesn't play well, this team is completely out of rhythm and can't their offense to function properly.

Do you not agree with this?

I'm not sure what you're suggesting with this post. Do you not think Rondo is good?

His point is that Rondo shouldn't get a free pass when he has a bad game, since Ray and Paul get murdered every time they have a bad game.

I agree, Rondo has been brutal these last two games, and the Celtics can't afford for him to have a bad game, for the reasons you noted.

I bet Magic is regretting his over-endorsement of Rondo during game 3.

I think Rondo is inconsistent and has been all season. If he went off for 28 pts and 10 assists next game, I wouldn't be surprised.

Honestly, all we need is 10 pts 10 assists, 5 rebounds, 2-3 steals, and good defense on Jameer Nelson.

But after the last couple of games that seems like a lot to ask.

Every game Nelson outplays Rondo is going to = a LOSS. Rondo only has to outplay Nelson once in two more tries. I like the odds of that happening.

If Rondo is injured and Nelson is hitting that outside shot...I'm not so sure.
