Media chatter about Tony Allen's ankle and Rondo's muscle spasms, as well as understated play from both in Game 4, has me wondering if Robinson might be in line for more minutes.

With that in mind, some quotes from Chris Sheridan's latest ESPN piece.

Quote from: ESPN
"It is (different), but you've got to have that Charles Darwin theory, survival of the fittest, and you have to learn how to adapt," Robinson said, "I've learned to adapt. I'm happy."

Quote from: ESPN
Robinson ran the second unit at practice in the three-day lull between Games 2 and 3 as Allen rested his sore foot, and Rivers seemed genuinely pleased. That may help explain why Robinson got the early call Monday night when Rajon Rondo got off to a slow start against the Magic. Robinson missed his only shot, an 18-footer, during a 65-second stretch of playing time early in the second quarter, then executed a terrific wraparound entry pass to get Kevin Garnett a layup while playing the final 64 seconds of the first half.

"It (the trade) was fine with us. We have another insurance policy and Nate's been great," Rivers said. "He's been great in the locker room. He's been great on the bench. All the things that you heard that he wasn't, he's been. And that's good.

"But Rondo's playing so well, and Nate has been a player in the past that needs minutes."

And less relevant to the post-season but still of curiosity, Sheridan also has updates on the former Cs that went back in the deal.

Quote from: ESPN
The Knicks are expected to let Giddens walk, and they'll see if there is any use for House in a sign-and-trade package between July 1 and July 8 and renounce his rights if there isn't. New York holds a Aug. 1 team option on Walker's $854,389 salary for 2010-11, meaning he will be playing for his job in the Las Vegas Summer League. D'Antoni has said a big factor will be whether Walker sheds some weight.

I really respect how enthusiastic Nate has been on the bench.  He's the first one up to congratulate his teammates and the most excited cheerleader during the game.

I hope they re-sign him on the cheap and give him a chance to meld with the team during pre-season and on.

Walker will be used to fill out that depleted Knicks roster, and i'm surprised because I thought Giddens would be too.

Yeah, you'd think they'd want to hang on to as much cheap talent as they can if their going to truly make a run at two max free agents.

Perhaps the thinking is to fill the roster out with journeyman veteran minimums? There could be a lot of House/Posey like deals for the Knicks this offseason if they can make some FA noise.

Did Walker have weight issues in Boston?  I don't remember that being something that stood out to me, he always seemed to be a naturally big but athletic guy.

Well that could very well work.  There are a lot of good free agent players that aren't the max guys who are really good.  If NY can bring in some big names I'm sure some of those guys will want to sign on to see if they can win something alongside them.

Maybe the famous Manhattan pizza got the best of him?  :D I don't remember hearing about any weight problems.

There is no reason to commit to guys you don't need to commit to. There are plenty of unsigned young guys who you can pick up instead of Giddens for the minimum.

I thought for a second this was going to be some bizarre science vs. religion thread, with Nate Robinson as the guru.

Kinda disappointed actually...  :)

Did anyone notice what Nate does when Paul hits a three(I don't know if he does it after every three pointer by our team, only noticed when P2 does it). He stands up, gestures a 3 and spins and stuff, I love it  ;D

Personally I was wondering why Doc pulled him so quickly on Monday. He made a few good passes and was working hard on the defensive end. I didn't see anyone take advantage of his size or post him up. He did miss the one shot he took, but that's not reason to pull him. Let's face it, Tony was having a terrible game and Rondo was slowed for whatever reason. I would have given him some more time to get in the flow. I don't see what Doc had to lose the way the other two guys were playing.

I'd like to see the Celtics make a medium-term offer to Nate and craft him into our permanent backup PG.
