Congrats Rajon! Another great accomplishment to add to the growing pile from this season. So proud of him.

On a related note the perils of appearing on the SI cover strikes again. Last night's performance makes perfect sense now.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

They're trying to jinx us on purpose. >:(

Yeah, making the SI cover guarentees more adversity for Rondo and the Celtics. He looked very lethargic last night (well compared to the rest of these play-offs).

Without the good Rondo, we will not get where we want to be in three weeks.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Let's hope that last night was the "jinx" game.

Listening to Ian Thompson on WEEI about his story in SI.  In the article Rondo says he believes he is the best point guard.  Thompson said he didn't ask Rondo that question, Rondo offered it like he was disappointed Thompson didn't ask that question.  This article was written a week ago, I think and then Rondo comes out with a stinker.

I'm afraid this is going to really jinx us.  Why did Rondo have to say he was the best point guard?  I hope Jameer doesn't outplay him for the rest of the series. :(

Thompson said the Magic were rejoicing when they heard Rondo was on the cover.

Thanks for nothing Ian Thompson! >:(

So athletes who have appeared on the SI cover haven't had bad games before appearing on the cover?

I like the confidence.  It's like when Paul Pierce said he was the best player in the NBA.

I remember most people disagreed with him.  I don't remember most people being upset with him for saying it, though.

You didn't listen to the radio.  You wouldn't believe how many callers were bashing him.  And a few callers were bashing Rondo today for saying it. A lot of fans don't like Pierce anyway though.  Not sure why.

Ah, gotcha.  You're absolutely right, I don't listen to sports radio.  Way too many armchair geniuses for me; at least here on the blog we keep things *somewhat* grounded.

Who is Wesley Matthews?  I really don't know.

Edit:  I meant to say, what about Wesley Matthews?  Was he on the cover of SI?  And what happened?
