To be honest, I don't recall how much time was left when the play was breaking down. I thought we had 14 seconds or so when we gained possession of the ball and much less time when things got all fouled up, but I could be mistaken.

I don't get it either. 


Isn't that one of the coaching strengths?  Calling good plays out of timeouts with limited time on the clock.

Yeah I was calling for a TO when they got rebound and it appeared like the players were even a bit confused about not calling it as well.  Then of course the execution was horrible. 

I don't get Doc doing the opposite of what he's done in every other game I can remember of the Big 3 era. 

Now saying that if it had worked I would have thought it was a great idea and showed confidence in the team...

This was one of many Celtic brain farts in game 4. Wont happen in game 5.

I don't think the timeout had anything to do with it, Paul just didn't trust his teammates, he should have kicked it over to Rondo so that he could either attack the rim or drive and kick... Paul was trying to be superman.

It was so Pierce could have Vince Carter guarding him instead of Pietrus or Barnes. I'd just go for the TO next time. I knew we were in trouble when Pierce's back was to the basket 35 feet out and with 7 seconds left.

I've read this take a few times today so I have to ask.

Have you read Doc's account of that last play.  If not you should.  It may lead to an edit on your part.

Rondo wasn't attacking the rim or driving and kicking all night; why would he start on the last play?
