 :(

I hope they rest him until the Finals so he can defend Kobe... or Nash. ;D

Tony's defensive game definitely wasn't up to his norm last game.  Let's finish things off, and hope that a week of rest helps.

Tony can't catch a break. We can give his minutes to Marquis today. We really need Tony as fit as possible for the finals.

If we take care of business tonight he'll have plenty of rest.

Also, the thread title is a bit misleading. It isnt any new injury. He is playing through some pain which alot of guys are doing right now.

Kudos to Tony for playing through the pain, I didn't notice he was playing through an injury but he did well in spite of it.

Hopefully we win tonight and then he has a long week to rest and heal.

Tony's defensive game definitely wasn't up to his norm last game.  Let's finish things off, and hope that a week of rest helps.

His defense was fine, not the best, but quite fine. He did look a bit out of it offensively though when he had the ball in his hands.

I'd be cautious with him tonight. We have a comfortable series lead, and Daniels is more than capable in stepping in for him.

I really want Doc to give our full bench, Nate and Daniels specifically, some playing time today when we can afford it. I don't think it's wise to go into the Finals with those two really not getting any valuable experience on the floor through the playoffs. You never know when you might need them, or when an opportunity to use them might present itself.

I'll disagree regarding his defense.  When he was put on Jameer Nelson, he picked up two quick fouls, and Jameer dropped two quick three pointers on him.  That's definitely below Tony's normal standards.

That's correct, he was poor on Nelson, but I think Nelson is a tough match-up for him. If I remember correctly, he did quite well in his other assignments.

Definitely worrying. And all the more reason to end this tonight.

A healthy TA is a big part of our anti-Kobe gameplan.

This is not good (but I guess if its been bothering him for a while and he's been playing at the high level that has been recently it can't be too bad.)

His defense was flat out great during the Cleveland series.  Anybody know exactly when he re-tweaked it?  I seem to recall him doing it late in the Cleveland series, but before that, I was thinking that this is the best we've seen TA during his whole tenure in Boston, possibly matched only by that couple of week stretch right before he blew out his ACL.

The poor guy is just plain snake bitten when it comes to injuries.  When he was a rookie, I thought he was just as good as, and had as much upside as Iguodala.

Yeah, big time.  When he's healthy, he's surely an elite defender.

Yeah I read that earlier today and was hopeful it's nothing too serious and getting some days off will help it heal. One more reason to close it out tonight.

Finish it up tonight and give him a week to rest it.  I'm sure he'll be ready for the Finals.
