TrueHoop challenge on Twitter:

"Imagine you ran the Magic, and some genie offered you any NBA player to help you beat the Celtics. Name your pick, and explain."

My answer:
"Al Jefferson. He'd do inside what SVG wish Dwight could do inside. He knows Perk's game too so he has an easier time against him"

What's your answer?

DWade.  He's the one guy in the playoffs who has been able to beat us single-handedly.

Yeah, I thought about giving that answer.  I also thought about saying Hedo Turkoglu.  Man, if the Magic could trade Carter for Turkoglu right now I think they'd do it.  They really miss his passing.

I agree.
No matter what, he's locked in the game and he gives 120% effort every time.

Right now I bet they wish they had Rashard Lewis, Dwight Howard, and Vince Carter.

Wade or Lebron,

Take that back. I think Wade would be the best candidate. Since he is capable of shooting. Unless Lebron improves his shot, Wade is scarier opponent.

Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo.

Based on roster reality that they could have controlled and not fantasy league additions that would never happen:

I think they miss Hedo Turkoglu. No one will want to admit it, but he gave us a lot more trouble than Vince offensively and actually played decent defense on Pierce. He wasnt selfish with the ball, he played with energy and could actually draw the defense to him and dish. Much better facilitator than Vince and a better clutch shooter without the volume shooting IMO. I think he made Rashard Lewis more effective overall.

Hedo isn't anywhere as physical as Lebron, but he's the same sort of matchup nightmare for Pierce.  There's just no way for Pierce to get his mid-range jumper consistently against someone that much taller.

We should all be glad the Master of Panic crammed Jameer Nelson back into the lineup in last year's Finals.  They might not have beaten the Lakers anyway, but if they'd played better the Magic would have been much more reluctant to part with Hedo.

James also beat us single-handedly for one game.

Side note: it's easy to remember the losses this postseason because they've been so few.

Thanx for reinforcing my point. TP

Hedo also was able to switch positions with the Magic SG and PF at both ends of the floor and remain effective. Much more versatile than Vince Carter. This helped Rashad's game a lot and created mismatchs they could exploit IMO.

Hedo, a healthy Brandon Roy, or Wade. They need improved defense and scoring at the wing as well as someone who can take people one-on-one off the dribble in the clutch.
