Yup I'll try getting a youtube up for those that missed it. Got me thinking if we get to the promise land and get a championship as far as rings go it stops at the owners, managers etc right? Do athletic trainers get a ring to? I doubt it which makes him cheering us on that much more cool.

I think it depends upon the organization.  In some instances, the key front office staff, coaches, and players get the "official" ring, while other lesser members of the organization get rings that look the same, but that don't have quite as many gemstones, etc.  I would assume that Lacerte would still fall in the former category, but who knows?

If I'm not mistaken, Lacerte received his ring during the opening night ceremony in 2008, so I'm assuming it's the same one everyone else got.  Hey, if Willie May is getting a ring, you better be sure Ed Lacerte is.

What is Willie May's job nowadays?  I always see him in the background but I have no idea what he does.

Lacerte deserves a ring more than anybody this year. Fighting through all those [dang] injuries all season.

He referees the little kids games at halftime...quite a downgrade from courtside reporter.  Next year he'll be playing the part of the old guy outside the garden with the sandwich board and religious pamphlets.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
Willie was AWFUL...  If he's lucky, no camera will ever find his face again...ever.

He actually does much more than that ... he's the official Emcee/Host/Master of Ceremonies for the TD Garden, and also does a ton of work for charity and local radio. He always kind of bugged me, too, as a TV personality, but he's a good person who donates a lot of his time to doing things for others, (and he's no worse than Bob Lobel - ugh!).

Oh man....watching Willie as sideline reporter....was like watching Joan Rivers doing the Red Carpet arrivals at the Oscars.

Always loved Ed Lacerte. Been with the team forever. Just looked it up: 23 years. Amazing. Think of the coaches he has worked under: Fitch, Jones, Rodgers, Ford, Carr, Pitino, O'Brien, Doc.

My second favorite Dream Teamer after Bird? Ed Lacerte of course. When they were putting together the best basketball team on the planet who got the call? Our boy Ed. That says something.
