Anyone watching the postgame presser that Twinbree posted?

Thanks, TB.

I had a lot of respect for SVG as a coach, but moreso now...

If ORL cleans house after this series is over, I hope he's the last person to go. I really like him as a Coach.

Great game!

Of all the ironies, it looks like Rasheed was right: you can loaf through the regular season and turn it on for the playoffs.

I watched it.  Yeah, I agree he's a good coach.  But I fear his team doesn't listen to him.  Anyway, he took the blame for the game plan and the team's energy.  I was left thinking that his team could play harder for him.

lakers will put kobe on rondo and he will get abused by rondo. bynum is gimpy. the key to the series is stopping gasol

Phil putting Kobe on Rondo to start the series sends a bad message to the team.  Phil's a great motivator, he's not going to take away Fisher's confidence right off the bat.  Giving Ray Allen good looks over Fisher isn't a good idea either.

And chasing around Rondo will just tire out Kobe and take away his offense.

Lakers can live with Rondo getting 30 points, they have favorable matchups against Ray Allen (Kobe), PP (Artest), KG (Pau), Perk (Bynum).
Anything is POSSSIBBBLLEEE!!!!!

Highly optimistic view of the matchups, frankly.

There isn't a Laker - Kobe included - who concerns me, given the quality of the team defense the Celtics are playing.

The half-hearted schoolyard nonsense Phx is running out there and calling defense is going to hurt you - big time - when the series begins. NO ONE in the West defends remotely as well as the Celtics.

Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

I love KG and Rondo. Too cute.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Exactly.  KG will abuse and shut down Gasol.  Perk has routinely shut down Bynum.  Moreover, Perk has already shut down far superior players this playoffs.  And as I said in another post, Kobe is going to have his hands full guarding Ray.  In 2008 he guarded Pierce most of the time, which is tough, but not nearly as physically demanding as chasing Ray though screens all game.  Running around like a chicken with his had cut off (and getting hit by the likes of Perk and Rasheed on screens) is going to wear Kobe down.

that's funny right there. Blind homerism.

Perk shuts down Dwight Howard, you don't think he can shut down a completely overrated gimpy stiff like Bynum? Hmmm.

How you can even try to assert that Ron Artest is better than Paul Pierce is beyond me. Absolute nonsense.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FD796H08J7w

Artest admits he was getting torched.

KG and Pau are even -- and that's me giving a lot of credit to Pau for taking his game to a new level this year. KG has always been better than Pau before. Now that Kevin is healthy we'll see how that one works out.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I expect KG to do to Pau what he's doing to Rashard Lewis this series.  Might not be quiet that bad, but I think we'll see Pau struggle.

Look, do you really think that Pau will have his way with KG?

Let's see who KG has went up against since Mid-April:

Beasley/Haslem.

Jamison/Hickson.

Rashard.

And Pau? Jeff Green....Boozer....Amare.

Advantage: KG.

You guys have misunderstood.  I mean the Lakers have favorable matchups DEFENSIVELY if they just keep Fisher on Rondo.

Nobody's going to flat out stop the Big 3 of the Celtics, but you can make them work.

Kobe can keep up with Ray Allen
Ron can pressure PP like Lebron did in Round 2
Pau has played well defensively against KG since 2008
Bynum doesn't have to do much to keep Perkins from scoring since he doesn't look to score

Again, I think Kobe is going to have a lot tougher time with Ray Allen than most people think.  Kobe is a great 1 on 1 defender, but he's used to facing up offenders and using quickness and strength to shut them down. He's not used to chasing players around the court and getting bombarded with screens.

That's not to say he won't stick with Ray, but I think it'll wear him out more than most think.

I don't know, Bynum4MVP, but while Artest is a great defender, he is no where in the same league as Lebron...Pierce will be able to get his shots against Artest.
