Over the past decade we've been through a squadron of point guards to say the least. Appreciatively, non of whom have materialized to Rondo's level, not to mention the personal achievements of which he has accomplished this season (Celtics assists record, All-Star).

How far back do we go to find a Celtic who was as good or better than Rondo? I feel as though we'd be hard pressed to find one who's number isn't hanging in the rafters.

Yeah, Rondo is probably the best since Cousy.  DJ wasn't the passer that Rondo is.

Yeah, Rondo is probably the best since Cousy.  DJ wasn't the passer that Rondo is.

Concur...  DJ and Ainge played a unique style of backcourt play in that they were interchangeable parts - Danny brought the ball up the floor a lot as well.

Tiny wasn't around long enough...I was hopeful the Celt's had a steal when they dealt Brian Shaw for Sherman Douglas, but "the general" never panned out, and Dee Brown wasn't a "true" point guard...

Rondo is a truly amazing player, and HE is the difference on this team.

1. Cousy
2. Rondo

There aren't a lot of pure points worth talking about. As mentioned DJ and Ainge played like two combo guards, rather than PG and SG.
