Gotta wonder. John Wall is going to be playing in Washington DC for a long time. College scouts are saying he's better than Derrick Rose, possibly one of the best athletic PGs to ever come out of college.

Washington is going to have enough cap space to offer at least one max level free agent big bucks. They will have Blatche, Thornton, Young, McGee, Arenas to build around. Could LeBron be interested? Bosh? Wade?

Wade with that team and if Washington could trade Arenas for parts could make for an interesting team

Side note: losing that lottery was doubly brutal for New Jersey, because they lost out on Wall AND Lebron.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I think their chances improve considerably if they deal with the Arenas situation and get him off of that team prior to free agency opening. On draft day.

Are you sure? I think Arenas being there is actually an attraction for FA's.

If the #1 pick was any position other than another point guard, I would say Arenas is an asset in luring free agents.

But Arenas + Wall in the same backcourt? I don't know, I don't think so. Two ball-dominant guards who'll have the ball in their hands 80-85% of the time? Who will limit one another's impact? And with Arenas' presence likely holding back Wall's development?

I think it's a more attractive situation if the Wizards build around Wall properly.

Will any team take Gilbert?  I doubt it.

Nothing about that team's current roster construction impresses me.  If I was a max free agent, I'd stay away.

Can Washington trade Arenas before the draft for something meaningful?

Maybe the biggest question regarding whether Washington could attract a top notch free agent

They won't be able to get in on the LeBron, Wade, Bosh sweepstakes.

I think the Wizards may have a shot at Amare, JJ, Boozer and Gay though.

If that's the case I go cheap this year and prepare for 2011 off season and spend the money there. If there is one, of course.

Players don't think like us fans though. For us we see "Josh Howard, weed smoker"... immature. I don't think actual player really care much about that stuff that some of us put a lot of weight on.

In any normal offseason, players of Amare's + JJ's + Boozer's + Gay's quality would be the headline free agents.

I don't think the Wizards can expect to do any better by waiting another 12-24 months time.

If you could choose to live in Miami, Chicago or D.C and be paid the same amount and not be a team mate of someone who brings a gun to work, where would you live?

I think GA will need at least a 1/2 year under his belt of problem free basketball before the Wizards can deal him off.

Detriot might be a match. Prince+Rip for GA and then move Stuckey to the bench?
