On the practice court and in the film room.

Oh wait. You mean team.

Cleveland.

Otherwise he jus becomes a guy that couldn't lead his team to a ring and had to run away from his problems.

Not to mention he'd lose $30million dollars in his contract and he'd get the hatred of his home town

Best place for him is Cleveland. The cavs might not have cap space, but they have a bunch of young prospects that they could trade in a sign and trade for any of the other free agents. Mo Williams + Varejao is enough to match a max player, and given the amount of cap space out there, teams who will be losing their free agents won't be able to get too picky.

If Joe Johnson or Bosh decide to leave their teams, it'd be hard to get a better package than Varejao+Williams, or Williams+Hickson+West.

If cavs management has any vision at all, they'd go hard after Joe Johnson, offering the Hawks Williams+Hickson+West in a sign and trade.

I can't see this happening.  I don't think other GMs are going to bend over to improve the Cavs.  Williams and AV have a ton of money owed to them over several seasons; another GM isn't going to willingly take that on.  Toronto would be better off completely rebuilding rather than accepting mediocre players.

I don't think that teams will bend over backwards to improve the cavs. But the fact is that, given the amount of cap space out there and the number of teams that could sign a FA outright, teams won't be able to demand much in terms of sign and trades. If Toronto or Atlanta lose their free agents, they would not be able to offer anywhere near the max to attract another player there. In fact, both teams would have just a bit more than the MLE to offer.  Varejao at 7 mill, Williams at 9, Hickson at 4 and West at 4 are all decent players who are not terribly overpaid.

If Joe Johnson decides to leave Atlanta, for example, I don't think they would get a better offer than Mo Williams + Varejao. And that would actually suit them, because one of the main reasons they were destroyed by the Magic was that their big men off the bench were a rotation of Joe Smith, Randolph Morris, and Zaza.

Why would any team take on long-term salary for mediocre players, though, in this economic / CBA environment?  It's cap suicide.

Because most of them can't afford to tank and because the role players I mentioned aren't that overpaid.
The hawks, for example, have Horford, Smith and Crawford tied up. They won't be bad enough to get a good lottery pick, and will never be under the cap enough to land a top free agent. Williams and Varejao fit needs, aren't that overpaid (9 and 7 mill, respectively), and are certainly better than letting Joe walk.

No to Chicago, unless he likes the idea and challenge of living up to the empty Jordan shoes...
also, it's too close to Cleveland.  If he leaves Cleveland he should play on one of the coasts, or possibly N.O.

I like the Clippers idea.  Direct challenge to Kobe-dominated L.A.  Direct challenge to past failure of that franchise.  Sunny L.A.  Good young players and a lottery pick in this year's draft....Despite the series we just saw Lebron is the best talent and player in the league...plus Kaman, Griffin, Gordon, Davis, a decent bench and a lottery pick?  Do people realize how much more talent that is than what's in Cleveland?

Brooklyn is also a nice idea....good players plus very high, if not top draft pick, plus historic Brooklyn.

New Orleans (I'm guess it's impossible since it's never mentioned)

Cleveland with Bosh would be interesting, but if they can't afford good role players I don't think it's enough to win...

We fundamentally disagree.  I think Williams and Varejao would be terrible fits on the Hawks, especially in terms of their current cap situation.

Boston ;D. I mean if he really cared he could come here, be the foucus of the team. And more than likely win rings here with the big four and have some great runs with Rondo down the road. Like i said take whatever the most we can give him (I know I am dreamin!) but He would be in a big market on the best team in NBA history. Well he was always wearing Celtic hats and jerseys when he was in High School! Heres to wishing!

P.S. I believe he was quoted on saying the one player he wish he could play with is KG!
