Today's Referees are:
Monty McCutchen
Regular Season Home Team W/L 49/26
Playoff Home Win % 88% (8 games)
Regular Season Home Win % 64%
Home Team Foul % 50%
46 Fouls called per game
McCutchen has been officiating games since 1993 and wears number 13. McCutchen missed the 1998-99 season with a ruptured Achilles tendon. McCutchen doesn't appear on the Cavs most or least liked refs list. He is a former elementary and middle school teacher and is fondly remembered by his students as a really nice guy. In searching for information on him, I found a Cavs' blog that blamed their April 4 loss to the Celtics on the officiating of Monty McCutchen. That was the game where Mike Brown was ejected and the Cavs made a furious comeback but fell short. Other than that, not a lot of controversy about McCutchen.

Bob Delaney
Regular Season Home Team W/L 41/25
Playoff Home Win % 71% (7 games)
Regular Season Home Win % 61%
Home Team Foul % 44%
41 Fouls called per game
Cavs 4-0 with Delaney officiating this season
Delaney has officiated over 1,300 regular season games, 120+ play-off games and 7 NBA Finals games. Delaney was formerly a police officer. He worked under cover in an investigation of New Jersey organized crime and helped to bring a portion of the mob in that state down. While serving as a police officer, Delaney was also a high school basketball referee in New Jersey from 1972 to 1982 and later officiated in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for four years before being selected by scouts to officiate in the NBA, beginning in 1987.

Eddie F. Rush
Regular Season Home Team W/L 42/27
Playoff Home Win % 100% (6 games)
Regular Season Home Win % 59%
Home Team Foul % 41%
42 Fouls called per game
Cavs 3-3 with Rush officiating this season (Cavs fans don't like him)
Rush has officiated over 1,300+ regular season games, 140+ play-off games and 9 NBA Finals games. Prior to joining the NBA, Rush worked high school games before progressing to college and professional basketball leagues. Eddie F. Rush is the only NBA ref to have officiated the last game of the NBA Finals for the last five seasons (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009). I know at least once I've heard Tommy Heinsohn getting very angry with Eddie F Rush and telling him he should go home.

Thanks, FL.

Well, no Salvatore or Bavetta.  That's good.  I had visions of Kings-Lakers '02 Game 6 all over again.

Hopefully, they'll let them play tonight.  Thought Tuesday night was a decently refereed affair.

Everybody at the game tonight make sure you are loud!!!!!I'll be there. I think this is going to be a very tough game with LeBron and the Cavs playing like they did in game 3. We need the crowd to give our boys support!!

Thanks, FL.

All we need is another Fairly Reffed game. When that happens, we have a Great Shot, no matter what Lebron does.

It's Ed F Rush that I'm worried about. I remember Tommy's rant "that's F for Fool!"

They are saving a special officiating trio of Bennett Salvatore, Dick Bavetta and Kenny Mauer for the game 7 in Cleveland if Cleveland can somehow pull out this game 6.

Quote
Brian Windhorst of the Plain-Dealer reports the three officials for Game 6 between the Cavaliers and Celtics.

'Monty McCutchen (best-dressed ref in league), Bob Delaney (former mob informant), Eddie F. Rush (don't call Ed)

Im happy to see no Bill Kennedy, Steve Javie or Dick Bavetta.

Anyone know anything about these refs and how what their record is in key games?

The mere prospect of that crew in a Game Seven easily makes the top ten list of reasons why tonight is a must-win for the Celtics.

I'm concerned that the refs are going to give Cavs every call tonight

I think the league doesn't want this series to end tonight.  I think they want Lebron to advance, and I know he's going to come out super aggressive tonight, and I'm thinking he's going to get the benefit of every call.  I seriously hope I'm wrong.

Yikes.  A truly gruesome prospect.

As to the crowd, I think they'll be just nuts tonight.  Rightly or wrongly, I think a lot of people didn't truly believe we could beat the Cavs going into this series, and I think something subconsciously doesn't allow you to invest as much emotionally if the chance of being let down is great.  Now, I think a lot of people really believe, and I'm thinking it'll be the loudest it's been in the building in the whole year.  Just hope the refs don't job us.

I think the league just realized that Celtics v. Lakers is bigger then Lebron.

After last game, no one wants CLE to advance.  Everyone wants Celtics v. Lakers even Laker fans.

These refs have incredible playoff home win %.

I think that bodes well for us, at least.
