I'm wearing my Powe t-shirt right now, but i don't want him back. The knees have been pushed too far and you can't trust that they'll stay healthy.

But i know that every once in a while Leon will have one of those nights, and I'll always enjoy watching it. I just don't think that he's what we need anymore.
Agreed,tp

No for talent, injuries, and especially for his comments.

I don't think the team is as big of fan of Leons (you got gifted into being a C in the first place) as this blog is.

I would love him back at the Vet min next year. Did he sign a 2 year deal or a 1 year deal with an option for a second year. If it's the latter I'd like him back.

We are going to have a lot of open roster spaces next year. Some of the players on our roster will be a lot worse than Leon.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

They have a team option that they would be quite stupid not to pick up. Unless they can negotiate some sort of multiple year deal at a reasonable price.

Somehow, I think the Cavs of all teams will not be declining the option, in order to renegotiate a longer contract...

As for whether I would bring back Powe, absolutely.  I think the C's took the right stance on it last summer, and I think Powe overreacted to the percieved "slight", but now that Powe seems to be recovering (although he still has a ways to go), I would absolutely bring him back.

You mean for vet minimum at most correct?

Yeah, most likely.  If it took slightly over it, I would consider it if his knee checked out.

Remember, he was worth much more than the minimum before he blew out his knee.  The only reason he got the minimum last year was that the chances of him actually helping a team this season were very slim.  However, next year is a different story.  He should be ready to be back on the court, and start regaining his explosiveness.

Which is why I view this thread as somewhat moot. I see no reason for the Cavaliers to decline their team option. He's definitely worth a cheap contract 12 months into his rehab.

Cool but, because he hasn't proven himself he should get no more than vet minimum this year as well.  With the knee injuries (past and present) even if he's ' healthy ' you can't go much higher than vet min and hopefully his Agent who screwed him last time will be smarter this time around.

If he were completely healthy, I'd love to have him back. He was one of my favorite players, and I still proudly wear my Powe shirt. He'd be a nice piece to have when the Big Three aren't around or as good as they once were.

Well, it doesn't matter, because there is no way the Cavs don't exercise their option, unless it turns out that his leg is falling off.  The whole reason they signed him was for next year.  It would be like throwing away money if they let him walk this summer.

Yes, I'd want him back. Shelden Williams was signed to do his job (for the same amount of money) and I think Leon's a better player.

I would like to see MORE of Sheldon on the floor, I think he can replace leon fine..if he got playing time...doc doesn't like sheldon for some reason...everytime i see sheldon on the floor, he is getting a rebound and finishing STRONG, or a good pass from rondo and finishing also..! But, Leon can take scals spot any day...!
