Would you want Leon Powe back

Didn't the Cavs sign Leon Powe for only a year...if so, would you guys want him back...I for once want him back, Celtics fan loves him, he loves Boston.

I miss his intensity and his hustle plays...to be honest when he was here, he draws more charges than big baby...rebounds a lot better and he was just running a lot...even today i will still take Leon over Big Baby ><

They have a team option that they would be quite stupid not to pick up. Unless they can negotiate some sort of multiple year deal at a reasonable price.

Not really.  He doesn't fit the need for an athletic big man with length.

To me one of Powe or Davis had to go, I was getting tired of our undersized lineup. Plus, it forced KG to play center more often, which took him away from his strengths as a PF.

Even if Sheed hasn't panned out, I'd still pick him over Powe for that single reason. Not because Sheed is currently better than Powe (though who knows since Powe hasn't done much this year with his recovery and all), and surely Powe plays with more heart... but the versatility and roster makeup that Sheed provides is enough for me. If not Sheed, then some other big man to fill the backup center adequately, Powe is not that guy.

We really can't have our two best bench big guys be undersized PFs. It works sometimes with Powe and Davis, but it's also quite a liability in others. Plus the whole KG @ PF thing.

Yeah, I would take a chance on Powe but it would be as the team's sixth or seventh big in the depth chart.

He hasn't proved his health since the injury ... to be counted on as a rotation player.

Same here. It still hurts to see Leon on the Cleveland bench, although I can't help but think "well, maybe you should have stayed with us" when the Cavs get blown out...  although he didn't stay because of Danny.

I would want Leon Powe back because of what he gave us, played hurt and he is a good man.  But its a business and we are (hopefully) competing for a championship which means he just doesn't fit.  I would also like to have billy walker back to sit on the bench and learn a full game as I think down the road he could help us.
I actually would like to make sure sheldon is resigned, I think he can be a good 5th big for us and shouldn't cost much either

I'm wearing my Powe t-shirt right now, but i don't want him back. The knees have been pushed too far and you can't trust that they'll stay healthy.

But i know that every once in a while Leon will have one of those nights, and I'll always enjoy watching it. I just don't think that he's what we need anymore.

I would like to see how Powe does physically next season before writing off his athleticism.

It is still very early in his comeback. He might improve quite a lot over the next 12 months.

Since he'd be taking the spot of Scal or Williams, sure.  He's worth having here just for what he could give us in practice.

I'd like to have him back for his heart and character from a non-practical perspective.  From a practical perspective, I'm not sure there's really a spot for him.
Sure, lots of bench spots will open up after this season with the expiring deals but let's think about this for a second:
* he's not cracking the starting lineup
* BBD and Sheed are still under contract and probably not going anywhere (deservedly or not).  Powe won't get ahead of them on the depth chart.
* Scal's gone (I hope and pray Danny does not resign him as a roster filler) but I would certainly hope that slot is filled by a real contributing player or prospect that can play the same role Scal plays which is a 3/4 swingman.
* Shelden's contract is up but I'd like him back.  He's not the scorer Powe is but he hustles like Powe, rebounds, plays D and more importantly, is bigger so he's less of a defensive liability.  He's a real-sized PF.
* All other slots that would be dressed for games should be players that back up the 1, 2 and 3 positions which Powe doesn't play.
* With only non-dressing slots available, those should be reserved for prospects, not players that should be earning a paycheck for actually playing.
