"Pretend you're on the road"

Fortunately, if the C's take the series they'll have away-court advantage against Orlando.

LOL. TP.  I was just about to post and say "What? Where have you been.  Orlando has home court" ... then I re-read.  Funny

Did you catch Doc's post game presser the other night?

He said he was going to fly all the wives to Cleveland to make the team think they are on the road when they play in Boston tomorrow! LOL!

I think he just shows some tape of Game 3 and says "Nice series so far, don't get cocky."

Tell them that nobody's giving them any credit for winning the last game - it's all about what's wrong with LeBron. Certainly in the national media this is the only angle. Put up clippings from all of the papers with the "What's wrong with LeBron?" stories and ask, "Where's the headlines about what's right with the Celtics?"

Tell them that nobody's giving them any respect. Play the disrespect card BIGTIME.

Hand out wooden stakes in the locker room as a motivational tool and tell them to SEAL THE DEAL.

OH AND... TELL THEM THAT LEBRAT IS CRAPPING ON THE GREATEST WINNER IN THE HISTORY OF TEAM SPORTS BY CHANGING HIS NUMBER TO SIX NEXT YEAR... AND WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE THAT LYING DOWN! THIS IS THE HOUSE THAT RUSSELL BUILT!

about changing his number: I thought to myself, perhaps he's giving a clue as to where he'll be playing next year--by saying he's giving up #23--Chicago?...Miami?

I don't think any motivational words are needed. As a few coaches have noted, if you need that before a game six in the playoffs, you've already lost.

I think if Doc should stress anything, the two areas of focus should be 1) energy and 2) no hero ball.

Shouldnt tell them anything. Everyone knows how important Thursdays nights game is. Doc needs to be calm.

Play like your season depends on it, because it does.

I have no idea but it better be good and grab their attention. Sometimes I think the players are too focused on their pre-game rituals to really listen to what he says. So many times he gives a pep talk that even gets me fired up at home but seems to have no effect on the floor.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Good point.  I just worry that during the regular season and in Game 3 our C's came out flat in "big" games.  Perhaps a calm and confident "you're a grown man and a professional ballplayer, you know what it will take" from Doc is the right message.

I'd go with "keep doing what you've been doing".

What does Doc tell the team going into Game 6?

How about to just show up??  I don't take even that for granted after game 3.
