How does Doc handle coming off such an incredible win and going straight into an elimination game against the Cavaliers?  Help me out here -- how does he pitch it to the team?  How do they prepare?

"Do it together", "Do it as a team", "Not the individuals", "Do your job"... you know, play the old recorder that he has used over and over.

Fortunately, if the C's take the series they'll have away-court advantage against Orlando.

Good idea.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
I'm hoping what KG said after last night, "We don't wanna come back here" is true for the whole team. If it is, then Doc doesn't have to say much of anything and at this point, he shouldn't have to.

I expect tomorrow to be a knock-down, drag out. But if the good Celtics show up - the team that plays unrelenting defense, who's bench can produce, the team with killer instinct - we will win.

Tell them that nobody's giving them any credit for winning the last game - it's all about what's wrong with LeBron. Certainly in the national media this is the only angle. Put up clippings from all of the papers with the "What's wrong with LeBron?" stories and ask, "Where's the headlines about what's right with the Celtics?"

Tell them that nobody's giving them any respect. Play the disrespect card BIGTIME.

Hand out wooden stakes in the locker room as a motivational tool and tell them to SEAL THE DEAL.

OH AND... TELL THEM THAT LEBRAT IS CRAPPING ON THE GREATEST WINNER IN THE HISTORY OF TEAM SPORTS BY CHANGING HIS NUMBER TO SIX NEXT YEAR... AND WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE THAT LYING DOWN! THIS IS THE HOUSE THAT RUSSELL BUILT!
